NARRATIVE REPORT OF THE EARTHQUAKE DRILL

Pursuant to Memorandum OUGFO NO. 2022-04-2259 of DepEd Central Office, all elementary and
secondary schools, both public and private, including DepEd offices, to take part in the 3rd Quarter National
Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) 2022 on November 10, 2022, SRNHS participated in 4TH
QUARTER NSED at exactly 9:00 A.M.

As the SDRRM Coordinator, I secured letter to ask the active participation of other municipal agencies like
BFP Minalin Chapter, Municipal DRRM Office and PNP-Municipal Police Office. The agencies and the
school coordinator agreed to participate in the earthquake. On the day of the earthquake drill, the SDRRM
Coordinator Zaldy R. Mendoza Jr. and Mrs. Catalina S. Viray (HT-III) together with F01 Jonell l De Vera
briefly informed the classroom advisers about their role in the earthquake drill. It was briefing seminar
regarding what to do before, during and after the earthquake. The teachers and advisers informed the
students on what to do during the earthquake drill and why the school should participate in the said event.
When the signal starts, all students responded actively and attentively. The students followed the
procedure of duck, cover and hold. At the second signal, all the students assembled at the open field as the
safest area to evacuate after the earthquake. The advisers did the headcount after the signal. Some
students acted as victims and some students and teachers together with Municipal DRRM Office Headed
by Maria Emilia A. Isip (MDRRMO) and Minalin PNP together with TVL Marine students actively
participated on how to handle such situation in the school setting especially search and rescue and first aid.
All the agencies together with the SDRRM Coordinator did a post evaluation of the earthquake drill and
they gave positive feedback to the students because of their positive response on the earthquake drill.
They also evaluated some improvement to be done in the next earthquake drill.
