PDL from IPPF Sta. Lucia Sub-Colony undergoes training on Adult Education /
Literacy Enhancement

Iwahig, Puerto Princesa – In connection to the improving livelihood programs of Iwahig


Prison and Penal Farm (IPPF), the Palawan State University - College of Teacher
Education headed by Prof. Myrna B. Quinon conducted a training on Adult
Education/Literacy Enhancement on April 20, 27 and May 4, 2022, at Sta. Lucia Sub-
Colony (SLC), Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.

The three-day training started last Wednesday, April 20, 2022, and was participated by
twenty-six (26) Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) of Sta. Lucia Sub-Colony. The activity
is with the supervision of CINSP RENATO A CAGAID, SLSC Supervisor.

The activity aims to enable PDL to improve their reading, writing and learning skills and
give them opportunities to engage in lifelong learning in the community upon release.

Through the leadership of USEC. GERALD Q BANTAG, Director General, under the
guidance of CSUPT JOEL R CALVELO, Acting Superintendent of IPPF, ensures the
implementation of reformation programs through activities that will help to improve,
promote and strengthen the positive and sustainable transformation of the PDL while
looking after their welfare and ensuring improvement and behavioral opportunities as
reformed persons is of highest priority.
