Learning Objectives: At the end of the lesson the learners are expected to:
1. Enumerate the elements of Poetry and define each according to its use in the poem.
2. Differentiate each elements base on its function.
3. Identify the various elements, techniques and literary devices present in a certain poetical piece.
Time Allotment: 3 hours and 20 minutes

Motivation (15 minutes) What Have you Eaten?
The teacher will give each student a piece of food with which they have to enumerate
the ingredients used in cooking the said food according to its taste. The class will be
given 5 minutes to list all ingredients on the board.

minutes) After the five-minute activity, the learners will look for a partner. They will talk about
the following question:
1. How is the activity related to elements of Poetry?
2. Is writing a poem be compared to cooking a food? Explain your point.

The teacher will play a song to the class. The learners will be asked to identify in the

The teacher will post 4 pictures and students will guess what the picture is all about in
one word. The first student to guess the word will be given extra points as bonus points
in the following quiz.

minutes) The class will be divided into 2 groups. They will be given a list of easy to difficult
activities. The first group who completely accomplished the list of activities will be
declared as winners. After the said activity, the teacher will open the floor for any
