A. Read the article about a problem on Mount Everest, and answer true or false.
Mount Everest
Most people know that Mount Everest is the highest mountain in the world. However,
there is another fact that many people don’t know: it has become one of the dirtiest
mountains in the world.
Mount Everest is one of the toughest and most exciting mountains to climb on Earth. It
is not the coldest or the windiest place on Earth, but it comes close! These challenges
make it one of the most attractive mountains for serious climbers. Since 1952, over 3500
climbers have reached the top. Unfortunately, most of them have left equipment and
trash on the mountain.
In fact, trash is now one of the biggest threats to the environment on Mount Everest.
Local organizations have brought tons of trash down from the mountain. One of the most
interesting projects handed over more than a ton of tin cans, glass bottles, and old
climbing tools to artists in Nepal. The artists used the trash to create works of art. Then,
they sold the art to raise money for local charities. The least expensive work of art cost
$17, and the most expensive one cost $2400.

Teenagers nowadays
Today’s teenagers are heavily addicted to their phones, and they don’t know their phone
numbers because they rarely make actual phone calls with them.
Teens care about usernames and apps, not phone numbers. When they meet someone new, they
don’t exchange their phone number; they exchange their Instagram handle or their Snap
username. They rarely even use iMessage or SMS because their parents can see this activity.
“Parents just don’t understand why we move from thing to thing so quickly. It’s not that we
have a short attention span, it is our generation’s ability to filter through information more
quickly because we just get bombarded with it so much,” said Shreyas, a high school senior.
Teenagers think Facebook is Lame. Even before recent controversies about Facebook’s
collection and use of data, teens today think Facebook is lame and something for their parents
and grandparents.
Teens use After School because they know that they are in a network with other teens from
their school, and they are able to connect and share anonymously. They’ve used anonymity to
share things they wouldn’t share on other networks — they’ll talk about difficult issues like
coming out, depression, and the stress of high school. Teens also love Snapchat “Snapstreaks”
and posting on Instagram. Many teens even set up a second Instagram account, which they call
a “Finsta.” Their first account is a public person, and the Finsta is a more unfiltered experience.

It's called the Apple Watch. It looks like a luxurious synthesis of technology and traditional timepiece
craftsmanship; it is very useful for someone who wants to use a "digital crown" to navigate through
lists and zoom in on data. The new Apple device starts at $350 and will be available early next year.
Six different bands will allow a wide degree of personal customization. "Taptic" feedback puts
pressure on your wrist for iPhone notifications, and can even send signals to turn left or right in the
watch's navigation app. And. Yes, this gadget requires an iPhone to work.
A tablet or tablet PC is a portable computer that uses a touchscreen as its primary input device. Most
tablets are slightly smaller and weigh less than the average laptop. While some tablets include fold-
out keyboards, others, such as the Apple iPad and Motorola Xoom, only offer touchscreen input. Since
tablet PCs provide a different interface than traditional computers, they offer unique possibilities for
graphics applications, games, and other programs. There are many people who prefer tablets because
they are small form factor, they are extremely portable, and can be easily stored in a backpack or a
briefcase.
A text message is an act of composing and sending electronic messages consisting of alphabetic and

I
I don’t know what would without my friends’ advice. They’ve
all given me so much good advice over the years. It’s sometimes very
difficult to make decisions on your own. Listening to advice can be great
for helping you make the right decision. The greatest piece of advice
I’ve received was from my father. He told me I can do anything in life
if I try hard. He was right. I am now passing on his advice to my own
children. Right now, I need some advice on money. My financial
advisors are telling me to be very careful. That’s very sound advice
. I would advise anyone to do the same. Someone asked me the other
day about the worst piece of advice I’ve ever had. I couldn’t answer. I don’t
think I’ve had any really bad advice.
WRITING
