Answer the following questions.

1. How do you think developing countries balance their need for development while protecting
the environment?

Developing countries balance their need for development while protecting the environment by:
 First, providing law about the protection of the environment. Governments will provide
different kinds of law which prohibit people to overconsume the resources, prevent the
illegal use or resources and for other action that can harm the environment. Second,
developing countries achieve a balance between their need for development and
environmental conservation by regulating carbon emissions and preventing environmental
degradation. Natural resources will continue to be exploited for development by emerging
countries. They are unable to eliminate environmental contaminants that contribute to a
country's economic prosperity, such as oil exploration and mining. Lastly, by the
enhancement of technology. Developing country use different kind of technology that help
them consume resources without harming the environment. Some examples of these are
solar panel, wind mills, biomass and hydropower.

2. What important steps should world governments take to achieve the SDGs?

 Governments already supported the Sustainable Development Goals, which aim to help
people live better, more peaceful lives. Countries have agreed to prioritize development
efforts aimed at catching up with the most disadvantaged. And nations unanimously agreed
to establish the Sustainable Development Goals, which aim to help people live better and
more peaceful lives. To make progress on the Sustainable Development Goals, governments
will need to collaborate across policy areas. The approach that world governments should
take is to raise awareness. Multiplying the complex equation of complementarities and
trade-offs across the entire spectrum of SDG policy areas implies the need for Prioritization
and bargaining involving all branches of government, as well as the private sector and civil
society Furthermore, the SDGs are a 'foreign policy' issue that necessitates significant
involvement from the diplomatic and development communities. In a nutshell: delivering on
the promise SDGs are a formidable governance challenge – regardless of a country's income
level.
