1. SCOPE
The object of this method statement is to provide guidelines for fixing of Paint work on
walls and ceiling.
2. DEFINITIONS

• SM Site Manager
• CM Construction Manager
• SE Site Engineer
• QA/QC Quality Assurance & Quality Control Engineer
• PPE Personal Protective Equipment
• QIP Quality Inspection Plan
3. RESPONSIBILITIES
It is the overall responsibility of SM to organize resources to perform construction
activities as per project specification, in compliance with quality, schedule & safety
requirements.
It is the responsibility of CM that construction activities are executed according to the
relevant project specification, in compliance with quality, schedule & safety
requirements.
The relevant SE and supervisor shall ensure that all the work, conducted in accordance
with this method statement and project specification.
The QC Engineer shall ensure that all work is executed according to IFC Drawing &
Specification and check the quality of work; also the documents shall be prepared and
signed as per QIP protocol.

First of all, area (Walls and ceiling) will be done clean and smooth with sand paper,
grinder and other tools.
All surfaces will be clean from dust before application of Primer/Putty.
Putty surface will be inspected by Client/OE, after approval of Putty, Paint activity will
be started.
Before doing any work, inspect all surfaces and determine that they are in proper
condition to receive the work to be performed under this section.
After cleaning, the surfaces shall be detached, pickled, primed, or otherwise prepared, as
recommended by the paint manufacturer. Remove blisters or other imperfections in
previous coats caused by foreign substances or paint skins from all painted subsequent
coat is applied.
After cleaning and smoothing the area one coat of primer will be applied.
After primer application putty will be applied on all internal surface and for external
surface, putty will be applied on only that area where needed.
Putty will be smoothened with sand paper for smooth and plain surface.
All edges will be made by putty / white cement / plaster of paris.
After completion of surface preparation, 02 coats of paint will be applied on all surfaces.
No painter's finish shall be applied until the preceding coat is thoroughly dry, and in no
case in less than 5 days for exterior work and 2 days for interior work.
Perfect Emulsion will be used for internal and Weather bond will be used for external
surface.
Final inspection will be done by Client/OE as per approved QIP and with protocol of
(Reviews and Surveillance) will be sign by EPC.

PPE for head and hand protective must be implemented.
Eye protection required for labor.
No trash, shopping bags, papers, cans, bottles or any other item should be left in the open.
Keep the environment clean.
