1. Discuss extensively : If Jose Protacio Rizal were living & alive today, and he
run for president of the Philippines this Elex 2022, how would you rate his
chances for winning? Explain your answers fully.
ANSWER: 99 percent . Because he sacrificed his personal interests for the
sake of his country and national wellbeing throughout his life. So, if Rizal
were still living today, I believe he would be the ideal presidential
candidate.

{of course, buhay nga po ha, alive, so, hindi kasama sa consideration yung
nagka trial at sentenced to death siya, etc. etc.}

2. In the objective portion of the Rizal final exams yesterday, for number 17,
there was a description of the situation of the Philippines... how much
closely is the situation of the Philippines in the past 20 years similar to this?
Explain your answers fully & provide as much evidence as you can
ANSWER: The Philippines' situation has deteriorated dramatically over the
last two decades as a result of some people harming others, particularly
those who are poor and unable to defend themselves. Some Filipinos have
previously been harsh to others. In comparison to now, the Philippines
before previously lacked justice.

3. In both the Noli Me Tangere & the El Filibusterismo, all plots of

rebellion/revolution seemed to fail. Was this deliberate on the part of the
author, Jose Rizal? Was this his way of saying that all attempts at armed
struggle would fail? How does this relate to 1896 to 1899 in our history,
what happened after Rizal died? How does it relate to our history of the
past 50 years?
ANSWER: After his death, the Philippine Revolution continued until 1898.
And with the assistance of the United States, the Philippines declared its
independence from Spain on June 12, 1898. This was the time that the
Philippine flag was waved at General Emilio Aguinaldo's residence in Kawit,
Cavite.

4. FOR BONUS POINTS: Insert a new scene or portion into El Filibusterismo, &
specify into what exact spot in El Filibusterismo you will put it in.... and, the
goal of the new inserted scene should be it will change the course of the
story.
ANSWER: Simoun/Ibarra meets Padre Florentino at the end of the novel
and tells him his entire experience. Before dying, he even passes over all of
his wealth to the priest. Padre Florentino throws these valuables into the
sea as a sign of our inability to comprehend the transformational potential
of these riches, but that we will be in the future. Padre Florentino makes a
break for it with the treasure Simoun leaves with him, as I imagined the
ending. Rather than throwing it into the sea, he flees to Europe, boarding a
ship, and living it up far away from the drama. A good character like him
deserves to retire and relax on the beach.
