B. Development (What is It?)

Stimulating One’s Mind
Have you read an anecdote? Have you ever retold
a personal experience to someone? How do you
find recalling past experiences?

We are fond of sharing humorous experiences in

life to our family members and friends. We might
not be aware that we are already sharing stories
like anecdotes all day, every day.

Let us deepen your understanding by having our

featured anecdote titled, “Home of the Ashfall” by
John Jack G. Wigley.

Mind Setting:
Hearing the word Ashfall, what other words can
you associate with it?
Are we, Batanguenos susceptible to this?

COT 1: Applies knowledge of content within and

across curriculum teaching areas (PerDev-
Sharing of unique characteristics, habits or
experiences)

Indeed, our featured text is so much relatable in

the present situation we Batanguenos are facing
right now. With all the threats and seismic
activities of Taal Volcano, we are given enough
advisories on how to be prepared when such
disaster occurs.
COT 2: Plans and deliver teaching strategies to
the special educational needs of learners in
difficult circumstances, including: geographical
isolation, chronic illness, displacement due to
normal conflict, urban resettlement, or disaster;
child abuse and child labor practices.

Reading Time!
Students will be given five minutes to read the
featured text available in their modules, pages
46-47.

Process Questions:
1. Was the anecdote a product of a creative
imagination? Why or why not?
2. Given all the purposes of an Anecdote, what do
you think is the aim of the writer in his story?

(What’s More?)
Activity: Let’s Go Digital!
Directions: Read again the selection “Home of the
Ashfall”. On our 21st Century Literature Facebook
Page, share your own experiences during a
calamity or disaster, including how you handled
the situation. Invite your FB friends to
react/comment on your post.
C. Engagement (What I Can Do?)
The Way I See It.
Activity: Here is a short video on Youtube
entitled, “Salbabida Story”.
Refer to this video link:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?
v=xYNv32ZqwmQ
Work on the following:
1. Pick out some lines (at least three) wherein the
speakers look back at some of their experiences
like example below:

“Kasi datin nabubully ako sa school. Ang pumasok

lang sa isip ko nun, gumanti. Siya (KB) yung
tutulong sa’kin na makikipagresbakan, and akala
ko nun e, makikipagbugbugan kami e, sapakan.
Tinuruan ako ni KB kung paano rin maging
Salbabida rin sa iba.”

2. After writing down some of the lines about

their memories, compose your own interpretation
of what you think the video is about. Write a
Mobile Text Tula as tribute to the people in the
video and acknowledge their share in the society
by helping other people.

What is a Text Tula?

Consider these as examples of your output for

today.
COT 3: Selects, develops, organizes and uses
appropriate teaching and learning resources,
including ICT to address learning goals

For submission of your Text Tula, you may post it

on our 21st Century Literature Facebook Page.
