PURPOSE
The purpose of this procedure is to describe the steps for leak test tubbing work in accordance with
the specified requirements for ASU ARZEW.
SCOPE
This is applicable for leak test tubbing work for all installed systems in ASU ARZEW. This method
statement defines minimum requirements but not limited, involved with instrument part , ensure that
full compliance with ASU requirements, safety, perfection and durability as per approved drawings
and specifications in the “Realization of An Industrıal Complex for Asu Project located in Arzew .

IMPROVEMENT

Users of the document who identify inaccuracy or ambiguity can notify the custodian or his/her
delegate and request changes be initiated.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1.1 Construction Manager


Shall be responsible for the application of this procedure and providing the required manpower and
material to achieve the objectives

1.2 Tubbing supervisor


tubbing Supervisor/Engineer is responsible for the implementation of the testing works as per
project documents and standards..

1.3 HSE Manager

The safety manager will be responsible for ensuring of the all activities related to preparation and
roof waterproofing works as per site safety procedures.

1.4 QA/QC Manager


QA/QC Manager will be responsible for monitoring, implementation and maintenance of this Method
of Statement requirements.

1.5 QA/QC Engineer / Inspector


Assurance of approved methods and materials are being used and conformance of the
specifications. Stage inspections and surveillance in accordance with ITP and assurance of quality
of work as per project specifications. Site engineer along with QC inspector shall be responsible for
all the quality related activities.

5.6 Testing Supervisor:


Testing supervisor is responsible for the test execution as per requirements and respect this
procedure.
5.7 QA/QC Inspector:
He is responsible for implementing and monitoring the application of this procedure.
5.8 HSE:
HSE is responsible for the involved personnel and environment safety during testing and
ensuring the respect of the procedure safety requirement.
5.9 DGM/Client Representative:
DGM/Client Representative witnesses the tests and approves the test results.

7. GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Pressure Step and Inspection timing:
Step-1: Pressure should be gradually increased to 5 PSI for initial inspection and hold 10 minutes.
Step-2: at 5 psi maintain, then soapy check for all joints including flanges. using soap solution,
spray all flanges and related tubbing work and observe for bubbles. Bubbles are indicative of
leaking points
Step-3: De-pressurize up to 0.0 bar (end of Test).
If there is any leak from Flange joints, depressurize up to 0 bar (re-test back to 5 psi).
8. TEST PROCEDURE DETAIL:
Nitrogen cylinder to be used and testing team shall be placed outside evacuation zone
8-1. Circuit Monitoring and Checking:
- For tubbing leak testing of circuits, access to the area of the test shall be limited to only the
personnel directly involved in the test or personnel involved in the inspection and monitoring.
- Soft Barricade (Red and White) shall be installed and a watchmen should ensure that no
personnel enter the area.
8-2. Exclusions
- The followings are excluded from the testing requirements of this specification:
a. Any package unit previously tested by the vendor in accordance with the applicable codes.
b. Lines and systems which are open to the atmosphere such as drain, vents, open discharge of
relief valve, and atmospheric sewers.
no leakage is found and no unaccounted pressure drop noticed during the agreed time interval .

Equipment for testing should be have as following:


- Flexible hose
- Pressure gauge
- Temporary tubbing set
- N2 cylinder.
