Teachers are the second parent of the students, whereas the majority time of

the day are spent with each other. I believe a good teacher must understand

the impact they have in their student’s lives. I need to be always after the

best interest of my students to create a good relationship with them. To be

able to gain their trust is for them to learn more from me.

The good teacher must be able to understand the different factors that may

affect the learning process of the students. I need to put myself in their shoes

as I was also a student, therefore, I need to fuse my past experience and

their prior knowledge in creating a good environment of learning. This

challenge of planning the learning experience for the growth of students

needs to take consider everything, especially the birth of technology.

I believe that a good teacher must be updated. So, I strive to take the

potential of technology in the realm of education, and acknowledge that it is a

fast growing phenomena in the learning of the students inside and outside

the four corners of the classroom. I want to take it as an opportunity to guide

them on how to use it in the student’s advantage. Perhaps I could effectively

guide the students where to get the right information they need.

For me, teaching means being able to break down complex information to

simpler statement for the students to easily understand. I believe that a

teacher should be able to recognized those that depends on their skills rather

on their intellectual. For those kind of students, trying new approaches to

accommodate their needs is a challenge a good teacher must take head on.

A good teacher is a guide towards the full potential of students. I should be

able to help them discover beyond what they think is their limit. Just like a

travel guide to the tourist, a tourist may read and research on what they want

to see but it is up to the travel guide on how they will experience it. The

students have develop expectations on what are they going to learn but how,

is up to me to deliver.

I want to be able to plan a lesson in which my students will be require to

exhaust all their strengths and weaknesses at the same time but will not take

out the fun in their learning process. In fact, a good teacher needs to inspire

his or her students to always give their best. Moreover, I need to be creative

in using my knowledge of the discipline to allow for not only my students to

grow but also myself.

Lastly, I want to be fair and just in the class to avoid competition against

each other, rather encourage them to help one another to reach the top and

savor the victory together. As their teacher, I need them to understand that

there is no competition because they each own have their strengths that may

compliment one another. A good teacher motivates his or her students to

always do good and be good, as a result, the celebration of teaching and

learning is a success.
