750 ml. water
75 ml. Fresh Aratiles Leaves
extract
10 g. Dried Aratiles Leaves
extract
5 g. Artiles dried flower
75 ml. Aratiles fruit

Respondents
The target respondents of this study were composed of 12

students and 12 teachers randomly selected from Grade 12 San Juan

Senior High School-Stand Alone. Each treatment has 8 respondents

to try the effectiveness of Aratiles anti-bacterial soap.

A. Methods
The following are the methods followed in

conducting this study.

Research Design

This study is experimental in nature. The complete

randomized design (CRD) used in this study. The leave extracts

and fruits extract of Aratiles were randomly distributed to

different treatments. The following are the four treatments that

used in the study.

T1 = 50g of Aratiles Leaves

T2 = 50g of Aratiles Fruits

T3 = 25g of Aratiles Leaves and 25g of Aratiles Fruits

Experimental Layout

The retail plastics have different treatments of made soaps

labeled Treatment 1, Treatment 2, and Treatment 3. The three

treatments which are based on the amount of Aratiles leaves and

fruit were arranged in appropriate experimental layout following

the randomization procedure in complete randomized design (CRD).

Preparation for Making Aratiles Leaves Extracts

1. Get a Aratiles leaves and wash with clean water. Drain

the leaves using the strainer.

2. Divide the leaves according to its weight needed for each

treatment.

3. Using the first blender, add 1/16 cups of water and blend

an amount of leaves according to the capacity of the

blender.

4. After blending it in the first blender, transfer the

blended leaves on the second blender without adding

water.

5. Blend it again thoroughly. Repeat the blending steps

until there are no leaves left.

6. Using a cloth filter the leaves while collecting the

extracts on a basin and place it on a cool area.

Preparation for Making Lye Solution

1. Wear personal protective equipment when dealing with lye

(it is poisonous and causes severe burns).

2. Estimate the amount of water needed on a pail and put the

ice on it. After 3 minutes, pour lye on the cold water.

3. Stir the solution using a spoon until all lye beads are

dissolved. It will have a chemical reaction giving off

fumes and heat. After a minute or two, the water will

turn clear.

4. Put the solution on a cool area, keep out of reach of

children.

Preparation for the Essential Oils

1. Measure the olive oil and put it on the mixing bowl.

2. Slowly pour virgin coconut oil on it while stirring.

3. Continue stirring until the oils are properly mixed.

Preparation for Soap Making

1. Prepare the lye solution, Aratiles leaf extracts and the

essential oils.
2. Pour the essential oils into lye and mix the solution

thoroughly by using whisk.

3. When the mixture turned sticky, put the Aratiles leaf

extracts followed by the fragrance oil. Continue mixing.

4. Put shea butter on the molding pan and pour the mixture

on it. Wait for 5 to 10 minutes or until the mixture

cools down.

5. Sprinkle dried Aratiles leaves and fried flower on the

molding pan and stir it carefully.

6. Cover it using paper wax and put it on a cool place.

After 2 to 3 days the soaps are ready for cutting and

packaging.

Data Gathering Procedure

There are numerous ways of collecting data and these are

depend on the purpose and aims of the research.

In this study the researcher used a questionnaire as a tool

to collect data and study the response of the students to

determine the effectiveness of using various levels of Aratiles

soap in different time frame. In addition, the researchers made a

group chat to check and ask some relevant questions about the

soap.
Statistical Analysis

The various data gathered were analyzed and interpreted using the
analysis of variance (F-test) following the layout in complete
randomized design (CRD) this was set at 5% and 1% level of
significance. Comparisons among the treatments were done using
least significant difference (LSD).
