Khôi:

Good morning everyone, today we will present to you about the benefits of
sports. Before starting the presentation, let me introduce member of group 6:
Khô i, Yến, Minh Trang, Tuấ n Anh, Huyền, Khá nh Huy, Trung Lê

Have you ever thought about the benefits that sports bring us? It cannot be
denied that sports are very important in our lives and the benefits it brings
are huge. And what are those benefits?

Yến:

The first benefit is improving our health. To begin with, playing sports help
enhance our immune system to fight flu and colds by eliminating all types of
bacteria found in the respiratory tract or in the lungs. Thus, reducing the
likelihood of flu and colds. Moreover, lungs capacity can be significantly
increased by playing sport. For instance, people who never play sport usually
have short breath and easily feel exhausted when doing heavy work, this
means the lung isn’t strong enough to provide oxygen for cells and muscles to
work effectively. Especially, playing sport is extremely beneficial for the old
such as strengthening bones, improving balance. As you can see, the old go
running, cycling, playing tennis, both of them have strong and uneasily broken
bones. When they play sport daily, their bones adapt by building more bones
and becoming denser. Another benefit is improving balance by preventing
falls and broken bones that may result.

Trang:

The second benefit is controlling weight. If you are overweight and you want
to lose weight, what will you do? Some of you may think that eating less will
be a good idea? but it’s not true, because you will lack of energy for a day and
always feel tired. Therefore, combining playing sports (such as cycling,
racquet, swimming) with a healthy diet is a more effective way to lose weight
than depending on calories restriction alone. When playing sports, physical
activity increases the number of calories your body uses for energy or “burns
off.” The burning of calories through physical activity, combined with reducing
the number of calories you eat, creates a “calorie deficit” that results in weight
loss. As well as weight loss, sport can help you gain weight through improved
muscle tone. You can also gain weight by playing sport, especially gym, when
you have gym, muscles are built and become firm and strong, which makes
your total body mass increase. The more that you use your muscles, the better
your physical endurance and overall strength.

Chó Tuấn Anh:

Sport improves not only physical health but also mental health. Firstly, it helps
moderate stress playing sport causes your body to release endorphins, the
chemicals in your brain that relieve pain and stress. It also reduces the levels
of stress hormones, cortisol and adrenaline, studies have shown that 20 to 30
minutes of exercise each day can make people feel calmer. Secondly, playing a
sport such as golf or skiing forces you to put aside your worries and
concentrate on the task at hand. This helps you clear your mind and calm
down. It also helps better the quality of sleep, after playing sport, we are
weary in body and mind and easily fall asleep. Sleeping better can improve
your mental attitude the next day, as well as improve your mood.

Huyền:

Enhancing teamwork skills is the fourth benefit I want to talk about,

teamwork is indeed a key part of any team sport. Playing as part of a team is a
great way to bond with others. It can create a profound sense of satisfaction
when communication, cooperation, and previous practice all come together
positively. Teams can bring a deep sense of belonging, and improve your
coordination. Team sports give players the opportunity to develop personal
skills. When playing in a team, you will learn a lot from others so your skills
will probably improve and team members will constantly help each other to
progress. In addition, team sports also offer players the chance to develop a
sense of unity, friendship, and sportsmanship between teammates, which can
add value to people’s lives by making them feel a part of something.

Huy:

Sports also can earn money for both individuals and countries. The main good
point of taking part in sports professionally is money. When playing
professionally, sport is like a career, so players will be paid like everyone else.
When they participate in the competition, the salary will be more, and the
amount will depend on their level. In some disciplines - like football, tennis or
basketball - amounts of incomes are extremely enormous. This motivates
sportsmen to improve their qualifications and spur amateurs to start treating
sport as a future job. Furthermore, the sports industry is a very big business
that contributes great amounts to the economy in terms of turnover, taxes and
jobs. Playing sport can decline the amount of unemployed, if the need of
sports equipment increases, many companies will recruit workers to produce
that equipment in order to meet the demand of players. The economic
situation of British football has changed massively in the last ten years: what
was a hugely under-capitalized industry at the end of the 1980s that often had
to endure enormous losses has been transformed into a multi-million-pound
business where the maximization of revenue and profit are key strategic
objectives for clubs and associations alike.

Trung:

Sport boosts your memory and thinking through both direct and indirect
means. Direct means include physiological changes such as reducing insulin
resistance, reducing inflammation, and stimulating the production of growth
factors, which are chemicals in the brain that affect the health of brain cells,
the growth of new blood vessels in the brain, and even the abundance and
survival of new brain cells. Sport can also boost memory and thinking
indirectly by improving mood and sleep, and by reducing stress and anxiety.
Problems in these areas frequently cause or contribute to cognitive
impairment.

Khôi:

With these advantages I have mentioned, it can be denied that sport has
benefits our life, from individuals to social. There's a saying: “He who has
health has hope, and he who has hope has everything." Let's take up one of the
sports and encourage everyone to play sport, so that we can keep our body
healthy and relaxed.
