Lesson Plan (Science Grade 9)

Content Standards:
a. The structure and function of plant parts and organelles involved in
photosynthesis.
b. The structure and function of mitochondrion as the organelle
involved in respiration.
Performance Standards:
a. Design and conduct an investigation to provide evidence that
plants can manufacture their own food.
Learning Competency:
The learners should be able to:
a. Differentiate basic features and importance of
Photosynthesis and respiration; S9LT-Ig-j-37
b. Value the importance of photosynthesis and respiration in
our daily lives; and
c. Cites some important details about the respiration and
photosynthesis in our environment.

Procedure:
Preliminary Routine:
 Prayer
 Checking of Attendance
 Review
 Motivation (Present a picture of a Sun and the Ecosystem)
 Setting of Objectives
Activity:
 Group the class by 2 and they will be discussing the given
task in front of a class
(1. Photosynthesis 2. Cellular Respiration).
 Each group is given 3 minutes to explain.
A. Analysis:
 Asking some questions towards the learners.
Abstract:
 Check the misconception of the leaners.
 Add on ideas and information.
 Let the students draw the conclusion.
B. Values Integration:
 The teacher will relate this topic to the real-life situation of
the community on how we defend our survival to the
environment.
Application:
 Group the class by 2 and they will give some importance
about photosynthesis and respiration (at least 10)
 Choose a leader and discussant.
 Present in front of a class.
 Present at least 3 minutes.
C. Evaluation:
 Present the prepared Assessment test.

Assignment:

Direction: Write down at least 5 scenarios on how to preserve our


environment and discuss each examples. (3 points each, ½ Crosswise).
