1. Subdue (Verb) - वश में करना - to overcome and bring (a person or
people) under control by persuasion or force

Example-
1) They admit they have not been able to subdue the rebels.
2) He criticized the school for trying to subdue individual expression.

Synonyms- overcome, defeat, master, break, control, crush, humble, put


down, conquer, trample, vanquish.

2. Conspicuous (Adj.) – सुस्‍पष्‍ट, साफ़, प्रत्‍यक्ष - If someone or something is


conspicuous, people can see or notice them very easily.

Example-
1) He spent his money in a conspicuous way on fast cars and luxury
holidays.
2) She might have felt less conspicuous if there had been other women
there too.

Synonyms – noticeable, prominent, striking.

3. Fraught (adj.) – व्याकुल- full of unpleasant things such as problems or


dangers

Synonyms – anxious, worried, upset, distraught, overwrought, agitated

Hint- Fraught sounds like fought. When you have fought a war, your mind is

4. Itinerary (Noun) - यात्रावििरण a detailed planned or route of a journey

Example-
1) The next place on the itinerary was Delhi.
2) The tour operator will arrange transport and plan your itinerary.

Synonyms - travel plan, program, plan, travel plans, route, travel guidebook

5. Inertia (Noun) – विष्क्रियता lack of activity or interest

Example-
1) He had to overcome his inertia and get back to work.
2) The bureaucratic inertia of the various tiers of government.

6. Commemorate (Verb) - अभिनंदन करना - recall and show respect for


(someone or something).

Example-

2) A statue has been built to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the
poet's birthday
