Reflection: this reflection about beach clean up at tanjung harapan

I participated in the beach Cleanup at tanjung harapan to volunteer more in my

community service and to help the earth. This event organized by group four and

participate by MSU student along with coordinate by MSU beloved

lectures.Basically this event organiser assign various task and divided the task

according to the group. We have learned so much about pollution and litter choking

the oceans and land that I wanted to help. I picked up mostly hard plastic

fragments, such as you would find in a plastic cup or flowerpot.

I also found lots of wrappers from granola bars and candy, and lots of broken

glass,baby drypers and abandoned tires. It it important that we tallied our results

because we can learn what is ending up on beaches the most, and how we can

reduce waste of that item. This would hopefully also reduce the waste on beaches

(or the beach we cleaned up). We can prevent these items from ending up in our

waterways by educating others about what was most commonly found, such as

how plastic straws are becoming less common after people raised awareness on

how bad they are for the earth, especially the oceans.

I think that the whole world benefited from our efforts, because although that

sounds dramatic, we literally helped make the world a slightly cleaner place. If the

whole word did a cleanup like that, it would impact the earth a lot. I also think that

those who live near the beach benefitted from out efforts, because now they can

enjoy a much cleaner and nicer looking beach. I learned that so many people are

willing to come help clean up, even those who I didn’t expect to. I also got a

firsthand experience of just how much litter there was filling the mud and bushes

at that beach. I think our efforts were important because we all worked together to

help our city/world, and we learned just how much litter there is covering our

beaches. Hopefully we will be more careful about our litter from now on as

well.Beside that, by this activity my mental health also have been improved.Overall

its give me a memorable experience.
