Let’s Understand (Study the Concepts)

Energy conservation is important and beneficial for many reasons. You can
save money, increase your property value, and protect the environment all
through simple energy-saving measures. These are great benefits you can gain from
saving energy no matter your exact motivation for conservation in the first place. By
simply taking a small step towards living a more energy-conscious lifestyle, you can
begin to enjoy all of the perks of being energy efficient.

Here are some things that we should practice to help us use electricity
efficiently.

1. Turn off lights and appliances when they are not in use.
2. Look out for “leaks” in your refrigerators and airconditioned rooms. Such leaks
like gap in the door or windows cause more electricity at 30%.
3. When food on the stove is already boiling, switch it to low setting or turn it off.
4. When ironing the last pieces of clothes, turn the setting or turn it off.
5. When using the washing machine, put in a moderate number of clothes in one
load. It saves a lot of energy to wash a lot of clothes in just one load.
6. When buying appliances, consider the efficiency ratings and other energy-
savings features. They may cost a little more, but in the long run, they will
save your money.
7. Monitor your electricity consumption. Inform your parents if your bill suddenly
goes up. Encourage them to find out immediately the cause of this sudden
increase in your consumption.
At present, we use electrical appliances to make our life more convenient to
live. Their are many appliances that we oftenly see in a mall, or event in online
store. Those strategy captivated our sense of urgency to buy the product. This

offered.

time they are used. Write 1-5 to show the sequence of appliances that uses up
most energy.

Cellphone 6 watts 3 hrs/ day
Television 80 watts 6 hrs/day
