- The physical whole of a live or dead person or animal the human body.

2. What are the different body types according to Ernst Kretschmer?


- The different body types according to Ernst Kretschmer are
 Asthenic (thin, small, weak)
 Athletic (muscular, large-boned)
 Pyknic (stocky, fat)

3. What are the different body types according to William Sheldon?


- The different body types according to William Sheldon are:
 Ectomorph (Asthenic)
 Mesomorph (Athletic)
 Endomorph (Pyknic)
4. What is a Skeletal System?
-  The skeletal system is your body's central framework. It consists of bones and connective
tissue, including cartilage, tendons, and ligaments.

5. What are the different types of bones?


- The different types of bones are
- Long bones
 Humerus  Tibia
 Ulna  Femur
 Radius  Metacarpals
 Fibula  Phalanges
- Short Bones

6. Define Muscular system.


- The body system that is composed of skeletal muscle,smooth muscle, and cardiac muscle
tissue and functions in movement of the body or of materials through the body.
7. What are the 3 types of muscle?
- The 3 types of muscle are:
1. Cardiac Muscle (Involuntary Muscles) - These muscles form the walls of the heart and
contacts to circulate the blood.
2. Visceral/Smooth Muscles (Involuntary Muscles) - Found in organs or organ system
such as the digestive or respiratory system.
3. Skeletal Muscle (Voluntary Muscles) - Attach to the skeleton with the ability to move.

8. Define Posture.
-- Posture is defined as the attitude assumed by the body either with support during the
course of muscular activity, or as a result of the coordinated action performed by a group of
muscles working to maintain the stability.

9. Define Alignment.
- Alignment refers to how the head, shoulders, spine, hips, knees and ankles relate and line
up with each other. 

10. Define Placement.


- The action of putting someone or something in a particular place or the fact of being
placed.
11. What are the benefits of correct alignment and placement?
Maintaining proper posture has many benefits including:
 Keeping your joints and bones in proper alignment.
 Ensuring muscles are being used effectively and efficiently.
 Helping to decrease abnormal wear and tear on joint surfaces.
 Decreasing stress on the spinal ligaments.
 Preventing the spine from becoming fixed in an abnormal position.
 Preventing muscle fatigue.
 Minimizing the risk of sprain and strain injuries.
 Minimizing the risk of back pain.
 Promoting a good appearance.
