1.) Paste here a news item or a poster, or an infographic and

examine the chosen material using the questions below:
A. What is the message conveyed?
This is not the end of us. That is the news-poster message conveyed simply
because, our planet is at a breaking point, but as a human being, it's not too late to
save it. As we all know, climate change refers to a broad shift in climate conditions
around the planet, including weather, temperature, and sea-level rise. It's defined
as a significant change in usual weather conditions over a period of decades or
more. Human actions, which include pollution and overpopulation, are the primary
drivers of climate change and the reason why the earth's temperature is still rising.
People burn a lot of fossil fuels, including oils and charcoal, which emit CO2, and
CO2 is the reason that our houses, factories, planes, and cars acquire power in
exchange for this rapid population expansion. As a result, a lot of people have
started eating more animals, which releases methane, another pollutant.
Additionally, the sea level is increasing by three millimeters a year. Another worst-
case scenario is that homes close to the coast will be buried when the ice melts
and the water level rises.

B. What is the purpose of the message?

This message's purpose is to inform as many people as possible about the
actual state of our planet. Not long ago, the whole world was shocked by the news
about the protest held by scientists in Los Angeles, including Peter Kalmus, a NASA
climate scientist with the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. It is the world's largest private
financier of oil and gas in this sector. According to Peter Kalmus, a scientist who
participated in the protest, they did it because they were desperate to inform
others about the true status of our world. They are also concerned about what
their children may face, and the bottom line is that they are worried that future
generations will not inherit a better society. They want to make people aware of
the impending consequences of climate change.

C. How do you react to the message?

For me, a planet being pushed to the edge will eventually turn on us. This
implies that as our world is mistreated or deteriorates, it will burst and return to us
all we have done to it. The expert said that as long as it is early and there is still
time to solve climate change with the help of official governments, individuals, and
ordinary citizens, we can change the world system. Make Your Commute Green,
recycle, encourage the use of renewable energies, and most importantly, educate
Yourself and Others are all things we can do to battle climate change. And if you
genuinely want to change something, you must begin with yourself. Don't expect
to see a change if you don't make one. The only people who can save our planet
are us, and life will be worth living when people are united.

2.) Relate a transactional communication that you have been a

part of recently and discuss one principle that applies to it.
I went to the mall last time because I wanted to treat myself and also to buy
some stuff. When I was walking, I stopped at a perfume store because it caught my
attention. Before I could speak, a salesperson came out because she could tell I
was in the mood to buy and also for them to promote their product. She observes
that I am intently and confidently examining the specific product, where I spend
several minutes looking it over. The salesperson can read this non-verbal body
language before any spoken conversation takes place, despite the fact that we
have never met before. She then walked over to me and made an approachable
and polite introduction. I can also sense that she resists the impulse to exaggerate
the benefits of the scent since she knows I will be persuaded to buy. I can
simultaneously see the salesperson's eagerness in her expression as she tries to
close the sale. At that point, I started to experience pressure. My facial
expressions, body language, and tone of voice all changed as a result. The
salesperson changed the topic after seeing the shift and ultimately informed me
that she would present me with a pricing and warranty package that I wouldn't be
able to reject.

The principle of this transaction communication is Continuous and Simultaneous

because I also acknowledge and participate in what the salesperson is saying. The
transaction is smoothly ongoing by the salesperson and me or the sender and
receiver because we both understand the perfume's benefits. It was like the
message would have been sent, received, and understood. The communication of
play roles is another principle that relates to this because the sender or
salesperson wants to convince the receiver or me that their product is good and
also make friends with me.
