Chapter 4

PRESENTATION, ANALYSIS AND INTERPRETATION OF DATA

This chapter presents the findings, analysis and interpretation of the data and

information gathered regarding the issue on abolition of Sangguniang Kabataan

and its impact to the SK Officials District I, Muntinlupa City.

Table 1 shows that four (4) out of thirty two (32) or 12.5 percent of the

total respondents are heads/ chairpersons. It means that since there are 4

baranggays in District I. Each baranggay has 1 chairperson. While, there are 28

kagawads or 87.5 percent of the total respondents.

Table 2 shows that 65.6 percent are ranging from the age of 15- 18

wherein they are really much busy having both academics and leadership

activities. However, 34.4 percent are in the age of 19- 21 and since that the

respondents have begun serving at young age, nobody reaches the age of 22

and above. One of the main reasons why respondents are almost same on their

age because of that provision on local government code stating all candidates

should be below 18 years old.

Table 3 shows that males have the great percentage than female. Male

got 59.4 percent while on the other hand female reached 40.6 percent. It seems

that majority are male, maybe their constituents perceived them as more

competent than female.

Table 4 shows the civil status of the researchers’ respondents. Absolutely,

100 percent of the Sangguniang Kabataan officials are single. All of them enjoy

their moments with their family, peer and co- SK officials.

Table 5 shows that large percentage in educational attainment was

covered by the tertiary level wherein researchers gathered 81.25 percent or with

the frequency of 28 out of 32 respondents. While, 18. 75 percent is in secondary

level. However the research proved that nobody is in elementary level while

serving as SK Official.

Table 6 shows that the Issue on SK abolition really affects the Personal

Life of Sangguniang Kabataan officials. As what we can see on the table, it

somehow helps the SK officials to be more responsible on their duties and

obligations. The total weighted means is 3.98 percent wherein the corresponding

verbal interpretation is it impact to a great extent.

Table 7 shows that SK officials are wiling to double their efforts in

implementing projects to the youth just only not to pursue the Abolition issue by

the government. And since that the government has plan to dissolve the SK, it

affects the relationship between the SK officials to the higher political

organizations such as Sangguniang Barangay. The total weighted mean reached

the 3.48 percent which its corresponds the verbal interpretation impact to a

great extent.

Table 8 shows the connectivity and performance of the SK officials on

their community. How does the relationship between them (SK officials) and the

people affect the performance and execution of projects? As what is transparent

in the table, it seems that the SK officials really work for their community, instead

of doing nothing since government wants to abolish their organization, still they

continue their plans for the society. Even the Sangguniang Barangay do not give

too much attention to them. It has a total weighted mean of 3.61 percent which

corresponds to verbal interpretation impact to a great extent.

Table 9 shows the over- all weighted mean and its verbal interpretation to

all factors that the researchers really considered just to find out the Impact of

Sangguniang Kabataan Abolition Issue to the Performance of SK officials in

District I, Muntinlupa City. Through the table, researchers found out that the said

issue really affects to the personal life of a certain SK official and on the way

he/she deals on his/her constituents and the society.

Table 10 shows the summary for the one –way analysis of variance

(ANOVA) wherein researchers found out that there is no significant difference

between the factors such as personal life, youth programs and community

projects in determining the impact of Sangguniang Kabataan Abolition Issue to

the SK officials of District I, Muntinlupa City.
