A. TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT
During the first day of the Training and Development of Mushroom Production with the resource
speaker Mr. George Alonzo as he shares his knowledge and expertise on mushroom cultivation.

PREPARATION OF SUBSTARTES AND FRUTING BAGS
The participants as they execute the mixing and fermentation of substrate materials as well as filling
the fruiting bags.

PASTEURIZATION/STEAMING
Region I
PASTEURIZATION/STEAMING
Steaming the bags in a drum pasteurizer for 6-8 hours and cool down. The drum was covered
that fits tightly on top.

INOCULATION
Inoculating the bags with the grain spawn in a clean and aseptic place.

INCUBATION
Keeping the spawn bags in a dry and ventilated room for at least 30-45 days. Open the
bags 1-2 weeks after the bag is totally covered by mycelium.

FRUTING AND ITS REQUIREMENT
Fruiting requires a temperature not more than 28 degree Celsius, ventilation, light and
relative humidity (80-85 %).
