Read the following statements carefully. Then write your observation report on the provided
space.

Describe the community or neighborhood where the school is located.

How many students and teachers were there?

What was your first impression when you saw the school?

If you were a student, would you want to study there? Why?

The school of Tagaytay Elementary School is located at Brgy. Tagaytay

Kananga Leyte. It is surrounded with houses. The neighborhood is noisy
because of the motor vehicles plying along the streets, but the outside
environment of the school is clean and not polluted. The school campus is
wide and the buildings are quiet old.

In the school there are 12 teachers and 373 students.

My first impression when I saw the school is very beautiful and colorful
buildings and surroundings of the school campus, for example; green,
orange, blue, etc. Most of the buildings were in good condition while some of
them are having their renovations. I can saythat the school is friendly and it is
safe and promotes a good learning environment for the pupils.

Yes because the surroundings are beautiful and clean and colorful and the
principal and teachers are kind.

My Analysis

How do the school campus and the classroom in particular influence learning?

The School Campus and the Classroom are very important for the students
learning development. It creates a conducive environment for the students
to learn many things which a student doesn’t learn outside. It is where the
students were able to learn to cooperate with others and thus able to
socialize with other students as well. So, the campus and the classroom have
a very important role in student’s development and without which the
students may have difficulties or have improper learning skills.

How does this relate to your knowledge of child and adolescent development and facilitating
learning?

In relation to my previous teaching experience the students are easy to learn

if they are comfortable with the people around them, the place and making
sure that are safe. As a teacher we have to extend our patience
providesupport and understanding toward the students. Let us do not forget
that we must respect their belief but we have toteach them the moral values
in the society.

My Reflection

In reference to your school and campus observations, what are the challenges schools face?
Propose measures to counter these challenges.

The challenges of school facing are student attitudes and behaviors, bullying,
technology, classroom size and poverty.
