PROJECT PROPOSAL

I. TITLE: GULAYAN SA TAHANAN

II. RATIONALE:

It has been a tradition of schools to conduct Brigada Eskwela in preparation for the opening of each school year. For this year’s Brigada Eskwela, the slogan
“ Bayanihan para sa Paaralan” was adopted as the theme to emphasize the country’s collective efforts in promoting of safe living and addressing social issues and
concerns in schools, at homes, and in the community.
We all know that living in a healthy environment and nutritious foods lengthen a person’s life, so to raise more awareness about health and nutrition among
students, teachers, and parents Deped implemented “Gulayan sa Paaralan.” This program will not only benefit the children regarding sustainability but will embed
in their consciousness the realization of how important these vegetables for their healthy living. But due to pandemic, and gathering is not allowed, Brigada Eskwela
2021 wants to bring this program at home which we call “Gulayan sa Tahanan or Urban Vegetable Gardening at Home“ as a School-Family-Community partnership
to promote sustainable food supply at homes.
As a support for this activity and in partnership with Gulayan Sa Paaralan and Local Government Unit of Manaoag specifically the Department of
Agriculture (DA), will be giving FREE vegetable seedlings and fruit bearing trees to students specially those who belong to indigent families who are willing to
have this vegetables and fruit bearing trees to be planted, cared, and monitored at home.
