PERFORMANCE TASK
ACTIVITY 1: FOREHAND AND BACKHAND STROKE (BADMINTON)
Note to the learners:
1. Learners may improvised equipment if racket and shuttlecock are not available;
for example, (Example: flat pan pry for racket and crumpled paper for
shuttlecock).
2. Learners may assign older family members as time keeper or judge.
3. It can be done as a competition or contest.
4. Form 2 groups with minimum of 2 members each. You can include your family
members.
5. Choose a leader for each team. Toss coins will be performed to find out who
comes first.
6. Total the number of hits of each member, the group who gets the highest score
will be the winner.
7. Objectives:
● Practice the correct use of forehand and backhand grips when holding the
racket
● Develop active participation in the game
● Avoid grounding the shuttle into floor
Materials Needed: Racket and shuttlecock
Here’s how:
Forehand Grip: Start with racket head in vertical position. Grip racket as if you were
shaking hands with it. Wrap index finger around racket at a 45-degree angle.
To become familiar with grip,racket,and shuttle have students standing in safe space
tap shuttle in air (eye high) using forehand grip. (Record the number of hit in 1 minute).
Backhand Grip: Start with racket head in vertical position.
Place thumb on flat part of grip in an upward position. Wrap other fingers around the
grip. On go, walk in safe space tapping shuttle in the air (eye level) using backhand
grip. (Record the number of hit in 1 minute).

ACTIVITY: 2 FOREARM DIGGING (VOLLEYBALL)


Note to learner:
⮚ Learners may improvised from equipment if volleyball is not available, (Example:
flat frying pan,such as making a big crumpled paper).
⮚ Learners may assign older family members as time keeper.
⮚ Form 2 groups with a minimum of 2 members each. You may include your family
members.
⮚ Choose a leader for each team. Toss coins will be performed to find out who comes
first.
⮚ Total the number of hits of each member, the group who gets the highest score will
be the winner.
Objectives:
Practice basic forearm pass skill
Control balls while stationary and moving
Materials Needed: Volleyball
Here’s how:
Forearm Pass: Pretend to sit in a chair, feet apart, 1 foot slightly in front, arms straight,
interlock hands , as if scooping water in overlapping palms, contact the ball, and follow
through. ( Have students stand up as they follow through). Have students shadow
practice. On the go signal, use the forearm pass to keep the ball in continuous upward
motion. Avoid grounding the ball on the floor. (Record the number of hit done in 1
minute).
