Teaching Date AUGUST 25, 2022 Section APPLE/CHERRY/STRAWBERRY
Time 8:25- 9:25/10:50-11:50/3:05-4:05 Teacher
CONTENT STANDARD The learner demonstrates understanding of key concepts of sequences, polynomials and polynomial
equations.

PERFORMANCE STANDARD The learner is able to formulate and solve problems involving sequences, polynomials and polynomial
equations in different disciplines through appropriate and accurate representations.

I. OBJECTIVES
Relate Patterns and Sequence to real-life situations.

Learning Competency Code M10AL-Ia-1

B. REVIEW Let's Recall. Complete the Sequence
1. 1000, 200, 40, __ 2. 4, 12, 36, __ 3. 12, 18, 24, __
C. LESSON PROPER
ACTIVITY
Let's Do This!
Lewis is offered P20,000 as starting salary for a job, with a raise of
P2,000at the end of each year of outstanding performance. If he
maintains continuous outstanding performance, what will his salary be at the end of 6 years?

ANALYSIS What are the given in the problem? What is P20, 000 in the sequence? What is the pattern if we consider this
problem as a sequence? What will you do to solve for the salary of Lewis at the end of six years?

ABSTRACTION
Let students elaborate the porcess on how to deal with problem solving involving pattern and sequence.

APPLICATION 1. During a free-fall, a skydiver jumps 16 feet, 48 feet, and 80 feet on the
first, second, and third fall, respectively. If he continues to jump at this
rate, how many feet will he have jumped during the tenth fall?

IV. EVALUATION The Greek theater shown at the right has 30 seats in the first row of the center section. Each row behind the
first row gains two additional seats.
How many seats are in the 5th row in the center section?

V. ASSIGNMENT Billy is stacking alphabetic blocks in the pattern shown at the right. The number of blocks in each stack
represents the terms in a sequence. A, AB, ABC, ABCD, ABCDE, … In which stack will Billy place the letter "J" at
the bottom of the stack?
