Questions on feedback communication:

Name of peer assessed student: Jack Weeks

Name of peer assessor: Chery Marriott
Date of peer assessment: 17/10/2022

Was the feedback presented in a clear manner? Give at least three examples of why/why not.
1. The feedback was presented clearly for task one by saying what I did correctly and
what I should improve on

2. For task 2, there couldn’t be much feedback but there were ways I could do it
better that I was told.

3. Some feedback wasn’t as clear but I was able to understand it enough to be able
to use the feedback, for example not having task 2 uploaded, I didn’t understand
the feedback until I looked back over it and completed it.

Was the feedback presented in a polite manner? Give at least three examples of why/why not.
1. For task 1, the feedback was presented clearly with all of it being completed well
according to the reviewer

2. Task 2’s feedback on the written sheet could have been written a bit better but
didn’t make it harder to understand what was verbally talked about

3. Due to nothing being written down for the feedback, I do have to go back from
memory for most feedback as there is no written evidence to look at.

Was the feedback accurate? Give at least three examples of why/why not.
1. Feedback for task 2 couldn’t be the most accurate as it was just mostly what I
could do to make it easier to complete.

2. Task 1’s feedback didn’t have any written evidence either apart from the crosses
on the boxes showing that it was done correctly but other than that not much was
talked about.

3. For improvements, some of the things talked about were accurate for what I
needed to do to improve on, especially for task 2.
What suggestions were given for completing/improving the work? Give at least three
examples and say whether you understood them fully or not.
1. For task 2, a lot was said for improvement as it wasn’t even uploaded at the time
of review. One was to complete it and upload it.

2. Another one for task 2 would be to write a way to improve the amber and red
priorities to green.

3. Final improvement that I could have made would be on task 2, to write actual brief
descriptions of the last section of task 2 instead of just putting numbers, like that
task said.

Write a little about how the experience of getting peer feedback could have been
improved by the person delivering it? Think about the questions above if this helps.
(Minimum 200+ words)
The peer feedback that I received could have been improved by having more feedback for
task 1, as most of the feedback was directed at task 2, leaving a lot open on task 1, even if
it was done correctly, as I’m sure some parts could have been improved in ways if seen
from an outside perspective and read over a few times. Having this much review of task 2
is helpful but would be more helpful if the review was spread more evenly over every part
that was being reviewed. Also, having more actual written feedback instead of just having
a majority of verbal feedback would be more useful to me personally as it would allow me
to go back and read what was written to know accurately what was reviewed and what
could be improved on instead of just going off of memory and having to mostly guess
what was told to me, as my memory isn’t the best and is an issue for me.

And finally, think about how the experience of both delivering and receiving
feedback/verbal/written communication can be applied to Esports. Think about team
dynamics, fostering a positive environment, giving clear and measurable targets, etc.
(Minimum 300+ words)
Giving peer feedback and receiving peer feedback is a useful skill to have, especially in
eSports as it is pretty much the same as team communication, strategizing and being able
to change tactic and play style in games, if need be, sometimes halfway through a game if
it is needed. Being able to take on the information and adapt to what you have been told
by teammates to improve is very useful as it allows you to work better as a team as a
whole as it will improve your communication and also help with improving how you play
as a team as it allows you all to figure out how to play more cohesively and more
effectively, letting everyone learn together and improve as a team instead of on their own
and leave their teammates behind at a lower level of information or skill. Being able to
also give out this information to help other teammates improve is also a very good skill, as
you are showing that you are willing to be a cohesive team and work well together, also
showing that you want to improve and help them all improve as well, as you would be
giving this information while also trying to improve yourself, giving yourself a harder task
but showing that you’re willing to do so.
