Next is, Olfactory Imagery. When we say Olfactory Imagery it appeals to the sense of smell.

In literature,
it means to use words and literary devices in a way that they make reader experience the fragrance
when reading.

So Olfactory imagery stimulates the reader’s nose and sense of smell, when a reader encounter a
sentence that used an olfactory imagery, the reader should be able to smell what the writer is
describing.

For Example :

She walked into the abandoned home and caught the scent of mothballs.

You can notice in the example the word scent of mothballs which was used to describe a place which was
an abandoned home. These phrase appeals to the sense of smell.

Next is Gustatory imagery.

When we say Gustatory Imagery it appeals to the sense of taste. It is words or pictures that make
someone think of food or taste.

Gustatory imagery can often be used to recall certain memories or emotions in the reader. For example,
if a writer describes the taste of something that the reader is already familiar with, they may associate it
with a memory from the past and will be able to remember the taste.

For Example :

The salty, sweet flavour of salt water taffy was Carrie's very favorite thing about going to the beach for
summer vacation.

In this example salt water taffy was described as salty and sweet. That appeals to the sense of taste
