19th Congress of the Philippines

In re: Priority Infrastructure Projects of Davao del Sur State College for Fiscal
Year 2023

Dear Rep. Cagas:

Greetings from Davao del Sur State College!

We respectfully inform your office of the priority infrastructure projects of Davao del
Sur State College submitted for funding for Fiscal Year 2023, to wit:

a) Rehabilitation of ICET Building to health and safety compliant, FIRE- ready

Academic Building- Php 50 Million;
b) Completion (Design and build) of 3-Storey Green Technology Earthquake-
Proof Agriculture and Devcomm Academic Building- Phase II- Php 50.466
Million; and
c) Completion of DSSC Virtual Library- Phase II- Php 40 Million;

Our top priority is item (a), the rehabilitation of the existing ICET Building, which
remained damaged and unoccupied since the series of earthquake with magnitudes
6.3 to 6.9 shook the entire province of Davao del Sur from October to December
2019
On the other hand, item (b) and (c), were the firsts locally funded projects as a
newly-established State College which are initially funded (Phase I only) by prior
appropriations.

However, these projects were not included in the 2023 National Expenditure
Program (NEP) upon evaluation of the Department of Budget of Management,
despite the urgency of the need. For the 2023 NEP, all SUCs, including the Davao
del Sur State College, were allocated a capital outlay of Php 25 Million across the
board.

The pertinent documents of the abovementioned projects were already submitted to

Rep. Francisco Jose F. Matugas for funding consideration. In relation thereto, we
humbly request for your support on the inclusion of these ticket projects in the
general appropriations.

May you find this letter in order. Thank you and more power.

Very truly yours,

AUGIE E. FUENTES, Ph.D.

College President
