Overview of the Assessment Activity (Provide a clear and concise description of your activity)
The Performance Task
GOAL The learners/students/participants must create a geologic timescale explosion box..

ROLE Historical Geologist, Content Creator and Designer.

AUDIENCE Students, Judges, Teachers, Faculty, and Staffs.

Create a Geologic Time Scale Explosion Box:

Procedure:
SITUATION
1. The teacher will divide the class into five (5) groups and designate specific working area per group.
2. Bring out all your materials.
3. Using your pencil and ruler measure three (3) 3 inch square vertically in the black cartolina. You
should create 24 columns.
4. Continue making a 3 inch square measurement but this time make it horizontally. You should create
3 rows. (Refer to the figure below)

3
5. Using your scissors cut the columns present in first (1) and third (3) row and remains second (2) row
untouched. (Note: be careful in using scissors)
6. After cutting the columns fold it one by one.
7. Fold the first and third row both side of the cartolina upward and roll it towards the second column.
Continue doing this until it meet at the middle. (Refer to the figure below).
Your product should be look like this.

7. You may now use your decorative materials in designating Geologic Time Scale, Eon, Era and
Period, Epoch, Age (mya) and Species.
8. Using your book and other reference materials arrange the geologic time scale from recent to past.
9. You may refer to the example explosion box of your teacher and the Rubric as your guide in making
your own geologic time scale explosive box.
