Course Outline
I. Course Description:

The Drafting Technology program aims to provide knowledge and skills for students

that are necessary to translate ideas, sketches, projections, and specifications into

accurate working drawings using manual drawing techniques. The course content of

this program includes credits in architectural, mechanical, structural, and civil

drafting. Students may choose to focus on continuing to a degree program in

architectural, mechanical, structural, and civil engineering after completing this

program.

II. Course Objectives:

At the end of this module, the trainee/student must be able to:

a.) Construct Orthographic Views.

b.) Apply General and Specific Dimensions

III. Course Content

A. Orientation Session with Introduction to Orthographic Projection 1hr

B. Orthographic Views 1hr

 Planes of Projection

 The 3 Regular Views

 Principles of Orthographic Drawing 1hr

 Alphabets of Lines 1hr

 Types of Drawing Arrow Head

 Procedure in Constructing Orthographic Views 1hr

 Orthographic Drawing Activities 12 hrs

  Lines and Symbols used in Dimensioning

 Dimension Figures 1hr

 Kind of Dimensions

 Dimensioning System 1hr

 Placement of Dimension and Notes
