COURSE SYLLABUS
1st Semester, SY 2020– 2021

MISSION: Develop Aurora State College of Technology as:


● a top ranking higher education in the sciences, arts, teacher education, agriculture, entrepreneurship,
engineering and technology;

technological inventions and people-oriented programs that addresses poverty alleviation in host and
partner communities;

deliver socio-cultural empowerment and improve the quality of life of the people it serves; and

people of Aurora and neighboring provinces.

DEPARTMENT GOALS:
● To produce globally competent and entrepreneurially skilled professional engineers tailored to present
demand in accelerating economic development by integrating them to local and international labor
market and those engineers must be imbued with high morale, spiritual, physical and intellectual values
that brings transformative development of life to form an ideal community.

DEPARTMENT OBJECTIVES:
● Provide quality instruction, seminars and training in meeting the demand of industry civil, electrical and
mechanical engineering
● Carry out research programs, engineering design and innovation, technical project and activities which
are responsive and relevant to the development needs of the service area and the country
● Execute extension works and projects that tie up with the needs of local and international communities
● Support the students to be more passionate by enhancing their potentials in their chosen fields through
recognition and giving of an appreciation
● Lead in the production and packaging technologies derived from engineering programs and be
responsive to the demands and needs of the department relevant to the needs of the province community,
region in general and ASCOT in particular

Basic information technology concepts: fundamentals of algorithm development; high – level language and

FINAL EXAMINATION
Course Policies and Performance Standards:
1) The lectures in this course are to be considered only as a study guide and a summary of the main ideas to
be learned. The students are expected to supply the details and secondary topics by independent self –
study.
2) All long exams and quizzes shall be closed books and notes. Quizzes are normally unannounced. Quiz
will be given either at the start or near the end of the class.
3) The primary purpose of quizzes and problem set is to allow the student to check his/her understanding of
the subject matter.
4) Problem set shall be collected at the start of the class on its due date. Late submission of problem set will
be subject to 20% deduction per day.
5) No make – up examination will be given for any long examination or quiz missed. If the absence is due

to a valid medical condition, a special long examination will be scheduled.


6) ID should always be worn while inside the school premises.
7) Absenteeism:
a) Student who incurred a total of ten (10) absences within the semester is considered to be
unofficially dropped from the roster of the class unless otherwise a medical certificate is
submitted to the instructor/professor.
b) Student who incurred three (3) consecutive absences is likewise considered to be unofficially
dropped from the roster of the class unless otherwise a medical certificate is submitted to the
instructor/professor.
c) Coming in late for three times is an equivalent to one day absent
8) Cheating in any form is not tolerated and punishable by a grade of 5.00 or “Failed” grade.
9) Clearance/Permit to take term examination is required
10) Students are expected to display proper values and behavior
