Abstract
The purpose of this research is to knoe and study the correlation of window placement to the
academic performance of seinior high school of Our Lady of Fatima University of Antipolo. This research
used Likert questionnaire as its research instrument which consist of 45 questions. This study aslo provides
the results of the said questionnaire respondended by different strand and grade level of 60 students of senior
The outcome of the results explains the thoughts and viewpoints of the respondents about the
research topic through the tabulated gathered data which was used to sort some kind of findings or its
conclusion. It staed that the respondents netheir agree nor disagree that natural lighthing and visible green
scenery affects their academic performance but it also state that the quality of air ventilation affects the
student.

1.0 Introduction
Going back to school, buying new stationaries, and meeting friends and classmates are some of the
most awaited days of many students but since the Covid-19 pandemic cause a huge setback to the education
in many countries in the world that leads to a massive change. Resulting in many schools choosing to
continue the education flow using a modular and online classroom setup.
Finding a proper place where you can study at home is hard considering the different ways how
students can keep themselves focused and comfortable. Not every single student has their own room to adjust
According to the article of Safetyline Jalousie, there is a right placement of window so that there is a
right amount of sunlight coming through that help students to be more focused and not be easily be distracted
by its surrounding.
Many traditional classrooms place windows where the sunlight can go through since based on the
study they conducted the students progress 20% faster when natural light is present. Teachers are dedicated to
preparing their students for adult life. This individual effort is of course very important. But some of them
may be canceled due to issues beyond the control of the teacher. A poorly designed building can play a huge
role in student learning outcomes. Even ventilation and lighting have an effect on a student's success in
school.
Our Lady of Fatima University- Antipolo Campus is a private university that has undergone an
Online School year due to COVID-19. In addition, all students and teachers are forced to set up their own
This research has a chief concern regarding the effects of window placement on the academic
performance of Senior High students. To obtain all essential knowledge, data, and information, the research

The respondents were chosen through purposive sampling where respondents were selected
through the appropriateness to the objective of the study. The respondents will be composed of senior high
students of OLFU who are currently undergoing an online classroom setup. A questionnaire and a checklist
survey that will analyze how different window placement will affect their academic performance will be
prepared and will be filled up by the respondents. With the help of the checklists, statistical graphs were
made to determine if there are significant differences between the academic performances of students when
involved in this.
The study is limited only to the respondents and the local of the research. Although the scope
of the research is, it may be conducted to other grade levels and it may also be expanded to other schools.
The main focus of this study is to determine the effects of different window placement on the
academic purpose of Senior Students and to know the more efficient placement for students.
Hypothesis
Students with natural light coming through the window will have better academic
performance than students without natural light coming through the window.
Students with visible green scenery will have better performance in school than students without
Student
The results will provide the students with the advantages of proper window placement as well as its
downside. It will give them the realization of exactly how much this will help their ability to focus on their
class.
Teachers
The teachers shall have knowledge about the possible benefits it will bring to the students.

Parents would be able to understand how window placement can affect their child’s ability to
Researchers
This study is significant to the researcher as it would improve their skill, strategy and knowledge in
engaging research
This study will be a useful reference for engineers and architects who plan to create a study area for a
house.

Figure 1 Variables
The Variables depicts a model of the relationship between independent variables and
dependent variables, as well as the theoretical context used in the analysis. Academic performance
and study environment are independent variables whereas the correlation of window placement to the
academic performance is the dependent variable. Three hypotheses, cognitive learning, parametric
model, and color scheme, describe each independent variable in this analysis.
They believe that cognitive learning theory examines how people think (Mayer & Moreno,
2003). Grasp how we learn requires an understanding of mental processes. Learners can be impacted
by both internal and external factors, according to cognitive theory. The cognitive theory implies that
internal thoughts and external forces are both key parts of the cognitive process at its most
fundamental level. Students get more control over their learning and conduct after they grasp how
A well-designed room can be defined psychologically as one that provides individuals with
inspiration and comfort that enhances their lives on a continuous basis, as well as a sense of
rejuvenation and a willingness to communicate with others (Hwang & Lee, 2018). People share
certain taste thus architects and designers should approach this issue through the lens of architectural
or environmental psychology. The value of the parameter defines the space for the model instance at
any given time. Therefore, the parametric model can essentially consider a large number of
They believe that color scheme theory helps in sending the message behind the design on
both visual and psychological levels (University of British Columbia, 2009). They used different
colors and when compared to blue, red improved performance on detail-oriented activities like
memory retrieval and proofreading by up to 31%. In contrast, when participants were given blue
environmental cues for creative tasks like brainstorming, they produced twice as many creative

6.0 Conclusion
The researchers conducted a survey to sixty senior high school students from Our Lady of Fatima
University Antipolo to conclude if window placement has an effect on the academic performance of students.
The respondents show different answers, most of them said that it’s neutral while others agreed and
disagreed.
Based on the results, the researchers concluded that most of the informants from Our Lady of
Fatima University Antipolo believes that window placement has no significant effect on their academic
performance. The respondents also disagree that proper natural light coming through the window and visible
green scenery can affect their school productivity but they agreed that the quality of air ventilation can affect
7.0 Recommendation
This is to acknowledged that there are parts in this work that should be addressed. The limits of this
work are one of the areas which the researcher are aware of. The data collection method in this study was set
and not arranged. We recommend that an equal number of people participate. We also advise other
researchers to experiment with different sample methodologies, research instruments, and analysis
approaches.
We also recommend further researchers to take this topic and expand further upon its possibilities.
We believe that there are more variables to be explored about this topic that weren't included in the scope of
this research or were missed by the researchers. We recommend taking time to find those variables and
research them. We also suggest that further researchers explore more on the variable “window placement”
and on its relation to the academic performance of the students as there seems to be a gap.
