Dear Students

We are going to study a new short story, ‘Quality’ which will make us ponder over some very serious
issues faced by people during the time of Industrial revolution in Europe. A beautiful story which takes
us on a journey of two brothers. Let us read the story and understand various aspects which make it
so important for us today. Unless you listen to the audios and read the story along, class discussions
will not be impactful. So, grab your text book and start reading.

We also need to practice directed writing which is report writing this time. Your pre reading task is
very important that is you should have read a few reports from an English newspaper to be able to do
justice to writing your own. Here is what you have in store.

1. English language worksheet 23/24 Report writing for magazine as well as newspaper
2. English literature- Short story Quality (1) (2 audio links are given)
3. English literature= Short story Quality (2)(2 audio links and 2 video links are given)
4. English literature – Short story Quality (3) (1 audio link is given)

So get ready and start working.
