2021 NATIONAL READING MONTH AND DAY OF READING

2021 PAMBANSANG BUWAN AT ARAW NG PAGBASA
November 1-30, 2021
S.Y. 2021 - 2022

I. RATIONALE

The Department of Education (DepEd) is committed to provide quality, accessible, relevant

and liberating basic education for all, and to lay the foundation for lifelong learning and service for

the common good.

Of all the skills a student has to learn growing up, arguably none are more important than

the ability to read. Each book that an individual reads is an opportunity to learn something new.

Reading is a gateway that one can expand his/her vocabulary, train his/her brain, increase wellness,

lower stress, and discover something new about himself / herself.

With this, the Department of Education, through the Bureau of Learning Delivery (BLD),

spearheads the nationwide celebration of 2021 Pambansang Buwan at Araw ng Pagbasa (PBAP)

this November to promote love for reading among learners.

This year’s theme is “Bawat Bata, Bumabasa sa Kabila ng Hamon ng Pandemya.” All

schools and learning centers are enjoined to conduct activities for learners.

Thus, Ihan National High School is one with the Department of Education in conducting

and participating in various national, regional and school initiated activities to promote love for

reading among learners.
