Explain the advantages and disadvantages of the following situation.

1. Use of Social Media

Advantages : It is known that social media plays a big role in reaching large audiences,
providing convenience in communication by lessening face to face communication,
useful for entertainment, and a gateway for promotion and advertising.

Disadvantages: In every angle of Social media, there will always be disadvantages

included. Social media can be a root of Cyberbullying, it could become a cause of false
information. In other perspectives, a lack of time management and awareness can be
noticeable. And lastly, in health terms social media can cause sleep issues which may
lead to mental health issues.

2. Conversion of agricultural land to Industrial areas

Advantages and Disadvantages: Agricultural property is typically (or ideally) on flat,

deep fertile soil, which may make it desirable as a building site. The likelihood is that the
current agricultural land is perfect for that use, unless it has been improperly managed,
and it should be valued for its ecological potential. It frequently occurs around city
boundaries, which may appeal to business. Increased value and higher taxes could
result from the change in land use. Urban planners may find it appealing for that reason,
but the consequences must be carefully considered: the possibility of polluting water
sources that are important to city residents; the increased transportation of food; the
potential increase in food prices; the loss of ecosystem services such as open space, air
purification, cooling, etc.

3. Emergence of genetically modified organisms

Advantages: The emergence of genetically modified organisms has a lot of advantages
like providing rich nutrients, making emerging crops less susceptible to pests and
insects, it is cheaper, and due to their increased yields and resistance.
Disadvantages: Although, genetically modified organisms are advantageous in many
ways, it can be noticed that there are also disadvantages in modified organisms. These
includes reduced nutritional value of the modified food, it may have an increased toxin
content, and it could cause or create an allergic reaction to the consumer.

4. Use of robots/machines in industrial facilities

Advantages: Robots and machines can be advantageous in ways like lessening the
exposure of people in hazardous workplace, improved quality assurance, and increased
productivity.
Disadvantages: Usage of robots in industrial facilities, can be disadvantageous as it
causes potential job losses, initial investment costs and malfunctions that could cause a
negative impact.

5. Emergence of the different brands and models of cars

Advantages: The Emergence of the different brands and models of cars can be
advantageous as it makes it easy and comfortable for passengers to travel long
distances. In addition, it is easy to manage with a large car capacity. Furthermore, its
emergence may help open new opportunities for people.

Disadvantages: Though it can be advantageous in many ways, there will always be a

disadvantage. As each model and brand may differ causing them to have a difficult and
pricey repair as its parts may differ and the material used might be expensive. Moreover,
it causes pollution and may lead to increased thievery cases.
