The bar chart illustrates the amount of money expended by schools on boys and

girls and the pie chart gives information about the share of students graduating from
higher education in Singapore over the 12-year period commencing from 2012.
Overall, it is clear that in the first chart, school spending on boys male students
remained higher than that of their female counterparts during the given time scale. In
the second chart, there was a slight decrease in the first category: categories degree,
while the opposite was true for diploma.
In 2002, almost no difference was seen in the school spending budget on both
boys and girls, at an average of 7. Meanwhile, the same disparity, but albeit to a
greater extent, wasextent was witnessed in 2004 and 2008 as the figure for girls
remained the same at 12 millionmillions dollars and that of boys kept rising
significantly to 26 . At the end of the period, boys received 33 millionmillions dollars
from school while school only spent 20 million dollars on girls.
From 2000 to 2012, there was an increase in the number of students gaining
gained higher education diplomas and degrees in Singapore. To be specific, 73% of
students in Singapore graduates received their degrees after school and that figure
declined to 68% 12 years later. A reverse trend was seen in the figure for students
graduating from universities school with their diplomas accounting for 27% in 2000
and rising by 5% in 2012.
TASK 2: Some human activities have negative effects on plant and animal species.
Some people think it is too late to do anything about this problem while others think
effective measures can be taken to improve this situation. Discuss both views and
give your opinion.
In the present-day ageNowadays, biodiversity on Earth is being destroyed by
human activities which causes with severe impacts on species of flora and fauna.
While some argue that this has become such a serious issue that it is too late to do
anything to tackle the problem, others believe that some efficient measures can
stillstilll be taken to address this situation. From my perspective, I am of the latter
school of thought.
Admittedly, one might argue that any attempts to fix the current environmental
situation are futile the environmental problems have become so serious that nothing
can be done to improve the situation. The most frequently cited reason is that due to
human’s overexploitation forests have deprived thousands of animals of their habitats
-human’s overexploitation of natural resources – the main driver behind any industrial
activities, many animal creatures are pushed to the verge of extinction. the main driver
behind the mass extinction of several species. To specify, when being they are forced
to change their home, animals are likely highly likely to fail to adapt with a new
environment, hence, driving which can eventually drive them to the brink of
extinction. Moreover, Furthermore, frequent soil degradation and unsustainable
unstainable agriculture in the pursuit of proliferation ploliferation have resulted in
various plants dying or being unable to grow being over-fertilized and unable to grow.
This is caused by This can be explained by the abusive use of use of exessive amount of
chemical substances substances put in the soil on a daily basis, the latter can be
carried out by using such as herbicides, insecticides, fertilizer and plant growth
regulators to boost planting productivity and. Taking all of these things into account,
it seems to be impossible for humans to reverse the damage they cause to the
environment.
However, I believe that these issues can be tackled under strict governmental
policies implications and social awareness enhancement. First, mostly all forest
overexploitation activities happen illegally without any restriction from or states.
Hence, putting out implementing regulations on these, say, limiting restricting the
number of industrial bodies who are given the right to cut down exploit forests
natural resources can, to a great extent, solve the current environmental issues and
improve the situation. Second, raisingrasing public awareness about the
severitysevereness of their destruction on the environment is another effective
solution to this problems. To elaborate, if a group of people acts for the Earth when
they are highly aware of after being educated about these problems, a domino effect
can be created, motivating others to do the same. This can eventually result in a
responsible society with everyone payingpay closer attention to their surroundings
and their atmosphere.
In conclusion, I hold a firm beliefbelif that it is never too late to solve the
environmental issues as many effective measures can be taken.
