Our Mandate
The Department of Education was established through the Education Decree of 1863 as the
Superior Commission of Primary Instruction under a Chairman. The Education agency underwent many
reorganization efforts in the 20th century in order to better define its purpose vis a vis the changing
administrations and charters. The present-day Department of Education, was eventually mandated through
Republic Act 9155, otherwise known as the Governance of Basic Education act of 2001 which establishes
the mandate of this agency.

The Department of Education (DepEd) formulates, implements, and coordinates policies, plans,
programs, and projects in the areas of formal and non-formal basic education. It supervises all elementary
and secondary education institutions, including alternative learning systems, both public and private; and
provides for the establishment and maintenance of a complete, adequate, and integrated system of basic
education relevant to the goals of national development.

MINOR OFFENSES

The following behaviour is considered as Minor Offense:

Violations & Penalty

1. Regularity of attendance and punctuality are required in all classes. A student has been absent
or has cut classes is required to present a letter of explanation from his or her parent or guardian
or bring them to school for a short conference with the adviser.
2. A student who incurred absences of more than twenty percent (20%) of the prescribed number
of class laboratory period during the school year shall be given a failing grade and given no
credit for the subject. However, the school head may at his/her discretion and in the individual
case exempt a subject who exceeds the 20% limit for reasons considered valid and acceptable to
the school.
3. Habitual tardiness especially during the first period in the morning and afternoon shall not be
allowed. Teachers concerned shall notify the adviser in turn call for the parent of the student
concerned.
4. Students who are late or did not attend for the Flag Ceremony are required to sing the
Philippine National Anthem by themselves and pick-up litter for 30 minutes/ cleaning of CR
and secure tardy slip and/or admission slip to the SSG Co/Adviser/President and present it to
the first period teacher.
5. Students are required to wear the proper uniform from Monday to Friday. Shoes and
identification cards are considered part of the uniform. Improper use of IDs shall be prohibited.
ID shall be confiscated, and the subject teacher should serve the penalty before redeeming the
ID. Form of punishment is by picking-up of litters and ground cleaning for almost 30 minutes is
required.

6. Haircut for boys shall be at least one inch above the ear and 3 inches above the collar. Advisers
or CAT coordinator shall punish male students with unacceptable sporting long hair.
7. Colored/dyed hair is not allowed in the school. Students with colored hair should be
reprimanded to alter their hair color. Failure to comply may result to serious penalty such as
rendering work and will consider as Major offense (1st offense).
8. Males wearing earrings is strictly prohibited. Dangling earrings is prohibited to female students
as well.
9. Wearing of more than a pair of earrings will be confiscated by the adviser or subject
teacher/SSG-Co/Advisers/President/Head Teacher.
10. Wearing of caps inside the classroom is strictly prohibited.
11. Littering is strictly forbidden. Students who are caught not properly throwing garbage shall be
punished by one hour of picking or to clean the school ground.
12. Recess schedule in the morning is at 09:00-09:20.
13. Using gadgets (e.g., iPad, tablets, mp3/mp4 etc. and or mobile phone) during class hours and
other school activities are prohibited. Unless authorized by the subject teacher/for instruction and
emergency purposes.
1st offense – confiscate the item and with promissory note
2nd offense - confiscate item and let the parent get the gadget
3rd offense - confiscate item and with 3 hours community service (11:20 AM to 12:20 PM)
