Directions: Write a 3-paragraph essay explaining how the various dimensions and
principles are used in designing a school curriculum. Be guided by the rubric given
below.

Effective curriculum planning and assessment put students and their learning needs

first. This idea enables educators to design lessons that foster responsible citizenship and

lifelong learning. A common set of values and distinct goals for teaching and learning serve

as the foundation for this dimension.

Planning the curriculum and conducting assessments take into account the continuum

of learning. This enables teachers to incorporate pertinent formative and summative

assessment techniques into their lesson plans. Students have the chance to guide their own

learning and reflect on it, providing valuable feedback on the curriculum, instruction, and

assessment methods.

The curriculum development principle of being environmentally centered has been

considered with the content of leaning experienced being required to be linked with the

environment in which the children live. For example, children living in rural areas would

understand the information concerned with rural experiences easily compared to being

emphasized on experience in urban centers and vice versa. According to the author, the

principle of practical work entails the need for the students to learn more through doing or by
