Ending the school year is one of the biggest events for every student at the college.

This proposal is
aimed at outlining the way in which last year’s activity can be improved so that everyone can enjoy it
as well as suggest further activities the college could provide.

Following discussion among the students, it has become clear that one of the main reasons of the
last year’s activity to be less succesful was the lack of an opportunity to enjoy eating with friends,
not forgetting that the activity was taking place in the afternoon. Furthemore, a number of students
are complainig about the fact that the last year they variety of choice was quite poor. Comments
made suggest also that the activity was not enjoyed by the most of my colleages.

I would suggest modifying the program by taking into consideration the following activities:

1.- In first place, regarding to the river cruise, in my opinion jazz is not the most succesful genre of
music between young people. In addition, it would be much better if some discounts are offered for
taking dinner.

2.- I recommend that students are given the option of enjoying live music, as I am of the opinion
that it is usually of better quality that disco music

3.- Regarding the option of the outdoor park, I also consider that if the plan of evening disco is
offered, many of my colleagues would really appreciate.

To conclude, if my suggestions are implemented, it will lead to an unforgettable end of year activity.

Tourism-it's always a good thing

Nowadays the importance of tourism in our society is undeniable, as we can conclude if we take into
consideration recent studies that show how it has increased in the last decades, turnig into one of
the main sources of income for a large number of countries.

Tourism has many advantages so as disadvantages, but it has in first place a direct impact in the
economy, providing employment for the people associated with hotels, restaurants, or translators
among others. In this way, the economy has a great benefit coming from foreigners. Tourists also
take with them, souvenirs which can be produced by people. Farmers are also encouraged to grow
more food for the population

On the other, it shouldn’t be forgotten that the environment usually suffer the consecuences of
unmeasured tourism. This can be noted in the increased noise and visual pollution created from the
construction of new buildings and discos in order to supply the need of the increasing number of
travelers. This may serve negatively as increased pollution disturbs local residents and also it may
discourage tourists from further entering the country

Other topic with great interest is that many of the infraestructure of the country is improved for the
easiness of travelers, as roads or airports for instance, wich lastly has an impact on local people. This
improvement has many positive aspects, from locals having an easier acces to the links, to the
posibility of investing in other areas of interest, as they don’t need to spend more money in
infraestructure. building up the infrastructure is costly and money that is spent may have been
better spent elsewhere.

We can conclude by saying that even though tourism carries a lot of disadvantages with its
development, countries especially those in the process of development continue to depend on this
industry because this industry does not require a lot of literacy and also it yields maximum profits
with less investment.
