4. Summary of Travel addicts

Ben returned from his trip just six months ago and now he wants to go travelling
again. He spent two years travelling with his girlfriend, Jane. They visited 14
countries, watched fireworks over the Sydney Opera House at New Year, saw the sun
rise over the temples of Angkor Wat in Cambodia, and spent his 31st birthday on a
Thai beach. It was the best year of their lives with no work, no boss and no worries.
They loved having the freedom but coming back was awful. They had hug debts and
had to find work. The routine of getting up, going to work, going home, eating,
sleeping and getting up again is just about killing him. He’s finding it difficult to do
what other people tell him to do. Then before he went travelling, he worried about
earning more money, buying a bigger car, a house, etc. But now, he’s back and
doesn’t care about those things any more. He’s living like a student again, and saving
all his money.

Ben met Sandie, Ian when he was travelling on a beach in Thailand. Sandie and Ian
got married and spent a year travelling on their honeymoon. They were both IT
consultants with stressful jobs. But now they are home and making big changes to
their lives. They will have to stay in these jobs until they find a way to escape.

Ben met Robecca in Australia during her round-the-world trip. Now she’s back home
and also having trouble readjusting to life. She feels it’s terrible and during the first
couple of weeks back at work, she couldn’t sit at her computer. Nobody understands
her. Her parents and friends aren’t interested in her experiences.

efficiency.
Technology has become indispensable for businesses. Customers are able to order
products online and have them shipped almost anywhere in the world due to the
improvements in communication and transportation. Businesses are able to schedule
meetings with employees around the world with the use of the Internet.

Technology has changed the personal lives of most people. Families are able to stay
connected with the use of cellphones and electronic mail, and they can meet more
frequently due to their ability to travel far in various vehicles, including cars, trains
and airplanes.

Technology has increased life expectancy in humans by improving healthcare

techniques. In addition to allowing surgeries and procedures that had been deemed
complicated, improvements in technology have allowed for better drugs to be
developed and distributed more effectively.

The technology used in all different fields is expected to continue improving over time
and make daily tasks easier to perform for the average person.
