What is scientism? What is C.S. Lewis’ stand on science and scientism?

Scientism is a concern, thought and expressions towards the methods of
science and to the scientist and in science or in other words, scientism is thoughts
about science and its methods, research, disciplines, philosophy, humanities and the
social science. C.S. Lewis wants to aware us on the usage of science and technology
towards the us when it gets abuse, he wants us to know the possibilities and how it
does affect our lives in terms of power and religion when it gets abuse.

Why is scientism being compared to technocracy and religion?

Because based on C.S. Lewis stands, now a days scientism and its technology
are being abuse in terms of power towards technocracy and religion. Scientism is
connected on technocracy because our society is full of technology that made by
scientist or technicians and people now a days can’t live without the help of
technology or can’t live by their own and not only that, because of the innovation of
technology, they used the power of technology that can lead to chaos, or because
of the science and its innovation many people gets blind by this technologies or
brought our mind or us into something that we don’t really need to do or want. In
religion, because of science and it’s technology and innovation, many people believes
that science is the only one that makes us live and flourish and in the same time, it
increase the people who don’t believe in god which affects our religion and beliefs
on god.
Do you agree that technologies control human lives? Why or Why not?
We believe that technology control human lives, why? Because of those
technologies, many peoples now a day didn’t know how to live without the help of
technology or to live by their own and for us, we don’t really need to rely on those
technologies if it doesn’t really necessary because doing things in the traditional
ways has benefits too and sometimes, relying on technologies has a bad effects on
us.

When are those times when science go beyond its limits or boundaries?
When the innovation of science or it’s technology has bad effects on human
lives and when it’s innovation not to help people but to make a chaos to everyone.
Because now a days, science and innovation of technology in different countries
making their power strong by making their new technology to destroy or to make a
chaos which is bad because we are doing science to help our natural and
environmental problems in our society and not to make destruction.

What aspects of your life in the past years were the most rewarding or
enriching? What made you flourish on those past years?
For us the most rewarding or enriching moment of our lives in the past years
is when the time that there isn’t a lot of modern technology because in that
moment, we feel how’s the life without modern technology and because of that we
experience things in terms of playing outside, doing some things in a traditional
ways, having fun or entertaining ourselves without the modern technologies which
are those moments are not present now a days and most of the kids didn’t
experience those moments that we experienced back then.

What or how did science and technology add and/or subtract to that
experience?
Science and technology lessen our experience on what is the life when there
is no modern technologies and because of these technologies, it changes our lives
that is really different from back then, it change our ways to live and our ways to
do the things that we’re doing before or from those years but for us, it is okay too
to have these modern technologies and because of this science and technologies, it
made us new and more modern than before and it is good because at least we
experienced that and now we are now experiencing our modern way to live and we
can’t blame the science and the time to innovate because that’s life, life is changing
and our lives changed because of science and because if science we lived more
better than before.
