1. Explains how the below Figure 1 support usability in interactive system design for LEARN ABILITY
principles with 2 examples that you can point out. (10 marks)
Figure 1
We draw two conclusions about the learnability principles from the given figure. The familiarity concept is one of the
rules. The use of user knowledge and experience from previous real-world or computer-based domains when interacting
with a new system is explained by this notion. As can be seen in figure 1, there is a password reset option when you select
the "forgot password" button. Resetting your password would undoubtedly make it easier for you to log in without any
difficulties. The second is synthesizability, which enables the user to access how previous actions have affected the
current state. There is an option where you can continue to be signed in, as shown in figure 1. The user has the choice to
check or uncheck the option.
2. Explains how the below Figure 2 support usability in interactive system design for FLEXIBILITY
principles with 2 examples that you can point out. (10 marks)
Figure 2
Based on figure 2, we may infer two different categories of flexibility principles: substitutivity and customizability. The
ability to customise allows users to change how input and output are presented. Figure 2 shows that there are many
products there. The user can check or uncheck the box next to the item they want to buy. Users have the option of
selecting all the products instead of only one at a time. Substitutivity will be the ensuing tenet. Users can substitute
equivalent input and output values for one another thanks to substitutivity. As we can see, each product has a variation
option where customers may select the kinds of variations they want to buy. Users can also add the quantity of the
selected goods using the available option.
3. In a Squid Party House, your team is assigned to propose interface design for bouquet ordering
mobile application. The interface must be suitable to be use for people with disabilities. Propose
your sketch interface design by applying 8 Golden Rules for below features. Every design must
have clear labelling and explanations of 8 Golden Rules applies.
Marks will be assessing for neatness (max 5 marks) and clarity of the work which is free from
plagiarism max 5 marks).
Good luck and all the best!
a. Users must input their username, email address, and password at the login in the above sketch. If a user does not
already have an account with which to log in, there is also the option to create one. There will be requirements
for entering a password in the password field, such as utilising both uppercase and lowercase letters, digits, and
symbols. The user also has the choice of checking to see if their password was input correctly. Users can decide
whether or not to stay logged in. Every time people with disabilities use the log, it will be simpler for them to
access.
b. There will be a tonne of menus, including home, about us, services, gallery, contact us, and shop, in the main
menu interface where the item added to the chart will be included in the icon. When designing identical
scenarios and sequences of activities, this management is based on the 8 golden standards of interface design,
which emphasise consistency. It makes use of well-known icons, colours, menu hierarchy, call-to-actions, and
user flows. As a result of everything being stored in detail, each menu provides a user-friendly method of access.
c. A variety of bouquets will be displayed in the ordering interface, and customers can scroll through them to make
their selections. Users will see details about the selected bouquet when they click on it. The user gets the option
of selecting the delivery date. In addition to picking the date, users may choose how many bouquets they want
and then put the product to a chart.
d. Before using the payment interface, the user must first provide their billing information, which includes their first
and last names, company name, nation or area, street address, town, city, state, and zip code, as well as their
phone number and email address. Users must select a payment method, such as a credit/debit card, an online
bank transfer, or another alternative, after entering all the required information. Users can place their order after
selecting the appropriate payment option.
