4. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS APPLIED FROM THE INTERNSHIP

 Communication skills: With programs designed for group work, presenting ideas
in front of the crowd and extra-curricular classes at the center, I feel quite confident
when meeting and communicating with new people.

 Teamwork skill: As mentioned above, With the curriculum designed for group
work, presentation of ideas in front of the crowd and the extra-curricular classes at the
school, I learned many skills when working in groups, especially ability to
communicate, listen, present ideas, to give out my own ideas, respect other people’s
opinions so that the assigned work is always done well from the efforts of all everybody.

 Skills to understand and use Basic English: Fortunately, I learned and used
English at school, so I was able to understand and communicate with everyone in
English during this internship, especially; I could also get a piece of content from the
foreign partners.

 Knowledge of the operation of systems and departments in the company: Thanks

to this internship, I have the opportunity to understand how companies and departments
and employees work together in a real way.

Page 7
5. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS LEARNED FROM THE INTERNSHIP

5.1 Knowledge acquired

My eight-week internship was short, but it was really beneficial to me, and I gained more
practical job experience than I anticipated. This internship training allowed me to put
my English abilities to good use in four skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
Aside from improving my communication, translation, and writing skills, I also gained
understanding of Word and Excel throughout my time there. With the help of teachers,
my management and teaching abilities are steadily improving. The lecturers and staff at
ACE Center were eager to point out my errors so that I might get vital experience for
my future work. My grammar, translation, and speaking skills have all improved.
5.2 Skill improved
During my eight-week internship at ACE Center, I had several opportunities to
strengthen a variety of abilities, including teaching, collaboration, time management,
and so on.
First and foremost, my internship provided me with valuable professional experience. I
was able to converse with native English teachers and teach English to pupils. The
professors and staff showed me how to handle lessons and interpret key paperwork.
These priceless experiences have been really beneficial to my profession.
Second, my collaboration skills have increased during the training process. Furthermore,
working with competent coworkers improved my presenting and communication
abilities by sharing ideas and reviewing their thoughts or advise.
The last skill I gained from my internship was teaching skill. I worked as a teacher and
a teaching assistant for a while. When I was teaching and explaining grammatical
structures to pupils, I discovered how much better my English grammar and teaching
methods had become. Eventually, I gained confidence and became more social with
everyone in a pleasant working environment.

Page 8
6. SHORTFALLS IN KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

 After the internship, I realized that I need to foster my speaking skill because this
part is considered as an important decision in communicating and conveying knowledge.

 About the self-learning initiative: After working in a real-world setting, I

recognized that the knowledge I needed to study was extensive, yet the knowledge I had
received in school during the previous few years was limited and obsolete. As a result,
learning is a lifelong process, and in order to study, I must develop self-study abilities
in order to acquire and update relevant knowledge, as well as solve difficult problems.

 Leadership skills: In order to be successful and work effectively, we must know

how to work with others outside of the ability to work independently. Therefore, I think
that I should learn more leadership skills to be able to work more successfully with other
people.

7. CONCLUSION

I feel very delighted to have completed my internship at Á Châu Center. Eight weeks for
internship is a meaningful time for me. Despite a short time of trainee process, the
internship course makes me feel more confident and disciplined than before. As a result,
I have gained a lot of precious knowledge and be more comfortable when communicating
with native teachers. In order to get those valuable experiences and knowledge, I would
like to express my sincere thanks to all the teachers and staff at Á Châu Center and the
teachers from English department, Hutech University. Especially, I would like to give
my sincere thanks to Mr. Huynh Thanh Quang who always supported, instructed me
during the internship.
