purpose for the E fruit? Go to the second floor?
lesson How do these different materials help you?
Pupils: We use scissors to cut paper.
We use bottle opener to open a bottle.
We use knife to slice a fruit.
We use the stairs to go to the second floor.
All of these materials are important to make our activity easier and faster.
C. Presenting E Guess the picture.

concepts work on.
Before settling to each group, what are the things you should remember when
working on group activity?
Group I
Classify the pictures as to types of simple machines.
Group II
Identify the type of simple machine as described in each number.
Group III
Complete the sentences to describe the types of simple machines.
Group IV
Make a song or rap about the types of simple machine. Use the given
information. (integration of Music)
Group V
Arrange the words to describe the simple machines.
Group VI
Write the type of simple machine that each picture represents.

1. A lever has a bar that turns or pivots on a fixed point called ___________.
2. The examples of lever are hammer, ___________, crowbars and fishing poles.
6. The sharp edge of the wegde is used to ___________, slice or fasten objects.
7. An inclined plane is a ___________ used to lift objects especially those that are

Group IV
Make a song or rap about the types of simple machine. Use the given
information.
A simple machine is a tool used to change the size or the direction of the
force. There are six kinds of simple machines namely the lever, the pulley the
wheel and axel, the inclined plane, the wedge and the screw.
4. Inclined plane – a ramp or a slope that reduce the forces you need to exert in
lifting something.
Example is the stairway.
5. Wedge – inclined plane with a thick base and a sharp edge. An inclined plane
uses the sharp narrow end to out – through a material.
Examples are ax, knife, teeth and chisel.
