Dear Professor,
Sincerely thank you in your busy schedule for reading this material, and wish
MUST a thriving and prosperous cause! I am a student from the international school of
Macao. I hope to study MBBS at MUST University. I will introduce my motivation for
choosing MBBS.
The main reason for me to choose MBBS is to help people in need. I always take
pleasure in helping others, I believe that mutual help is one of the most important
qualities of human nature. Mencius quoted that human nature is kindness, every human
being will unconsciously help others who need help. I fully agree with this perspective
and I always remind myself with this famous quote.
My grandfather is my role model. He was a police officer. When he looks back on
the first half of his life, what he is most proud of is not the rank of police captain, but
every case he dealt with, the life he saved, the justice he upheld. He educated me that
one should not pursue wealth zealously, that taking the pleasure of helping others is the
most important thing. So I do, I got lots of friends, we helped each other and everyone
in need. I participated in volunteer work. I remember those memorable moments in
nursing homes, the hard times after the typhoon Hato disaster.
I always contribute my energy to those in need, but there are times that I fail to
help, I fail to help my mother, she is the person who loves me the most. One day when I
was in grade 9, She was constantly coughing with blood out of her throat, we called an
ambulance, she had stayed in the hospital for two weeks and was diagnosed with Acute
Bronchitis. We should figure it out before her condition became that worse. She already
had symptoms of the case, she coughed often, she was weak. Indeed, she got a full-
time job and a part time job afterwork, also a doctoral thesis unfinished. She is a
hardworking person, she works hard for me, she loves me more than everyone. But I
can’t do anything for her, I helped others, I can’t help her. After that accident, I realized
the ability and importance of doctor. I hope I can become a doctor, save my mother
from Acute Bronchitis.
In this Covid pandemic, the great responsibility doctors take inspired me. All the
doctors and other medical staff stepped forward bravely from calamity. They also have
family and all of us love our own life. It really needs the courage to do so and hats off to
the doctors. It was their determination that the recovery rates were so high. I believe
that doctors have the energy to save the world.
I want to help my mother; I want to help people who are in need of treatment; I
want to save everyone. That's why I want to become a doctor, a good doctor. I hope I
can serve humanity through my medical knowledge that would be learnt in MBBS
program.
