KNOW AND UNDERSTAND

CONTENT STANDARD:
The learners demonstrate understanding of the range of research topics in the area of inquiry.

As you can remember in your Practical Research 1, designing a research can be grounded by various
real life examples that demands for a suitable type of data to be used, suitable analytic method to
be utilized and determined difficulty rating as research guide.

You should be reminded of possible research topics and their sources as stated below.

1. Pressing issues on an individual, organizational or societal level, or successful stories

2. Wide Reading/Critical Film Viewing
3. Social Networking
4. Replication
5. Lectures, Talks, Seminars
6. Gray Areas

Considering that research do affect society, it can be drawn out that research can just be carried
out by anything that has something to do with people and their daily lives.

Possible Research Topics Related to Daily Life

1. Problems on poverty alleviation, unemployment, homelessness, gender equality.

2. Population aging, child care, development of the youth, all forms of violence and online or
cybercrime.
3. Traffic situation, preservation and protection of environment, livelihood projects,
entrepreneurial ventures, health care, social security and a lot more.

Deciding on a Research Topic The topic and variable should be relevant to our strand
It is very essential that your topics is in lined with the track you are currently taking. Having aligned
research topic to your track will justify the worth of your research project and it will also be easier
that you have enough knowledge and idea about the topic you will be working on to deviate with
wasted time, effort and resources. In deciding for a final topic for your research project, it is very
important to reflect on some point of consideration:
1. What area on my specialization I am interested to venture?
2. Will it be practical and economical? Explain.
3. How significant will it be for my track and the society?
