Production log

By Matthew McMillan
I am starting the editing process of my radio interview about Liverpool football
club. I am currently marking in and marking out the voxpop for my interview to
get the right part of the audio that I need. I am using the marked clip that I
have chosen to drag it to my timeline at the bottom right hand side as this is
where I will place my final making of my interview and I have also identified
the razor tool to cut parts of my interview where I have mispronounced a word
or if I have a unnecessary gap in between my audio.
I am currently editing the first part of my introduction to my actual interview and I
am dragging my clips that I want to use for my introduction down onto my timeline
and putting them together so that the flow of the interview is running smoothly and
there is no unnecessary gaps between my audio.
Here I have currently used the razor tool on my toolbar on the left of my timeline to
cut out parts of my audio that didn’t sound good enough to be in the final cut of my
interview. By doing this I have identified what parts I need to cut from my interview
and also finding out what audio works together to make the flow of my radio
interview run smooth.
Here I am adjusting the audio of my introduction to ensure that the listeners can
hear the audio clearly and understand what is being said throughout the interview.
I have also changed my audio levels so that I ensure that my interview is at a
consistent sound level to make my interview a better listen to the audience.
In this I am cutting out the parts in the interview where my interviewee stops
talking and there is just a silence using the razor tool on my toolbar. This will be
beneficial for my final cut of my radio interview as by cutting out the silent parts it
will make the flow of the interview run better and make it sound better to the
audience so I can keep the viewer attention.
In this I am adding my music bed to my radio interview by importing the link I have
chosen in my radio interview planning and adding it to my interview. By using this
music bed it will add sound to my interview so that it will be more enjoyable to
listen to for the viewer but it also correlates to what my interview is about.
In this I have added my sound effects into my radio interview by importing the clip I
have chosen again from my radio interview planning and adding it to my interview.
This will help my final cut for my interview because it emphasises what I am doing
in my interview for example I am using a stopwatch sound effect for my quick fire
questions to emphasises that it needs to be quick.
In this I have added a key frame to my music bed so that I can gradually pick up
the audio and also lower the audio for when it fits and also to ensure that the
audience can hear the actual audio of the interview.
