A concrete platform needs to be set up before the cabinet installation to protect the base
station equipment and ensure the normal usage of the communications equipment.
ZXSDR BS8900A C100 has three types of cabinets, that is, the baseband power cabinet,
RF cabinet, and power cabinet. These cabinets can be stacked or installed side by side.
The base does not accompany the delivery of these cabinets. The base needs to be
installed before the floor-mounted cabinet installation.
l Stacked cabinets
Figure 3-1 shows the space requirements in such a scenario.
3-1
3-2
Caution!
l Keep the cabinet top at least 200 mm away from obstacles.
l When two cabinets are installed side by side, at least 500 mm is reserved between
cabinets or between cabinets and their surrounding obstacles to ensure that the
cabinet doors can be opened or closed normally.
3-3
3-4
Note:
If a floor-mounted cabinet need not be stacked with another cabinet on its top, the
floor-mounted cabinet needs to be installed with the sunshade.
In the stacked cabinet installation, you just need to stack another cabinet onto the top of
the floor-mounted cabinet. The installation procedure is shown in Figure 3-4.

Caution!
If only four batteries are used, the unconnected terminals for batteries must be wrapped
up with insulation materials.
Context
Figure 4-11 shows the interior layout of the battery box.
The battery box can be configured with up to two battery groups and each battery group
has four 12 V batteries in serial connection. Make sure that the dimensions and weight
of the selected batteries are applicable to the battery box before installing these batteries
into the battery box.
l Every battery rack supports 260 kg at most, that is, each battery is 65 kg at most.
l The available space of each battery rack is 490 mm x 350 mm x 540 mm (width x
height x depth). When the battery spacing is 2 mm, at least 12 mm is reserved in
height and depth. In this way, the left and right sides of each battery group is at least 9
mm away from the inner wall of the battery box for electrical safety. Figure 4-12 shows
the requirements for installation space of batteries. Table 4-1 shows the requirements
for battery dimensions
4-11

4-12
Note:
W2 = W3 x 4 + battery spacing x 3, W1 =(W-W2)/2; H1 = H-H2; D1 = D-D2
When only four batteries are configured, place them on the low battery rack; when
eight batteries are configured, place them on the upper and lower batter racks, with
four batteries on each.
Table 4-2 Spacing Between the Battery Group and the Inner Wall of the Battery Box
Battery Spacing 2 mm
Steps
1. Use the multimeter to check whether each battery is functioning properly by measuring
the voltage of its terminals.
Batteries from different suppliers may have varying voltage ranges. For details, see
relevant battery user guide to learn the supported voltage range of a battery. If the
detected voltage of a battery is out of the normal range, it indicates that the battery is
faulty. Replace the fault battery with a new one of the same type and from the same
supplier.
4-13
2. Place batteries one by one onto the battery rack by following the polarity directions
and actual spacing requirements specified in Figure 4-13.
Caution!
l Read carefully the battery precautions (such as safety requirements when
carrying batteries) and learn about the correct battery connections before
any operations on batteries. Improper operations on batteries may incur
dangers. Avoid short circuits or electrolyte overflow during operations on
batteries. Electrolyte overflow poses latent threat to the equipment because it
corrodes metallic objects or circuit boards and damages the equipment (such as
short-circuiting the circuit board).
l The wiring terminals of batteries must be placed facing outwards to avoid impact
on battery connections.
l Place the battery groups in the middle and reserve at least 9 mm from the left and
right sides and top of each battery group to the inner wall of the battery box for
electrical safety, so as to avoid short circuits caused by wiring terminals' contact
with the inner wall or even fire.

When the baseband power cabinet and the RF cabinet are installed side by side or they
are far away from each other, you need to connect BBU and RSU using optical fibers.
Pay attention to the following points when installing optical fibers:
Steps
1. Affix a temporary label.
Affix temporary labels to both ends of the new optical fiber to set up a mapping. If
more than one optical fiber needs to be installed, use different labels to differentiate
optical fibers.
2. Route optical fibers.
a. Optical fibers go out from the side waterproof module of the baseband module and
go through the routing apertures on the base.
b. Then, optical fibers go through the routing apertures on the base of the RF cabinet,
traverse the waterproof modules, and connect to the six optical interfaces for RF
modules.
Figure 5-36 shows how optical fibers traverse the waterproof modules.
5-27
Caution!
Insert optical fiber connectors tightly.
Caution!
Protect an optical fiber with the winding tube when routing the optical fiber inside the
cabinet. Protect an optical fiber with the corrugated pipe when routing the optical fiber
outside the cabinet.
