Purpose
This manual provides information about the set of documents that ZXSDR BS8800
accompanies. It explains the document architecture, usage, and provides information of
manual obtaining, suggestions, and feedback.

The following introduces how to use these manuals to obtain information easily.

It is recommended to read the Documentation Guide first to understand the
documents' category, purposes, contents and usage, and how to obtain these
documents. It is recommended to read the Documentation Guide first to understand
the documents' architecture, purpose, contents, and usage of the document set.
l Technical manuals
Technical manuals enable readers to have a complete concept of the entire system.
Read the System Description manual and the Hardware Description manual for
information such as the system composition, equipment functions, technical indices,
working principles, connection relationship of external interfaces, LED indicators,
and DIP switch and jumper settings.

l Installation manuals
Installation manuals guide installation personnel to safely and correctly install
hardware. Read the Hardware Installation Guide manual carefully before installing
hardware equipments.
l Maintenance manuals
Maintenance manuals guide users to perform maintenance for base station
equipments. Users can perform routine maintenance according to the maintenance
items provided in the Maintenance Guide manual to guarantee stable equipment
running.

2.1 Document Distribution

Product manuals are distributed to customers in the following ways:
l Printed manual
Printed product manuals are shipped along with the equipment.
l CD
Product manuals in CD form are shipped along with the equipment.
l Website
Product manuals are also available on ZTE's technical support website
http://ensupport.zte.com.cn.

2.2 Document Obtaining

2.2.1 Methods of Document Obtaining
Product manuals can be obtained by the following two methods:

Downloading Electronic Product Manuals

After making registration, users can download electronic product manuals from ZTE's
technical support website http://support.zte.com.cn.
1. Logs on in http://support.zte.com.cn and click English to go to the English version
homepage.
2. In the User Center pane, enter your Account, Password, and check code, and click
Log in.
For the first time registration on server, click Register in the User Center pane to get
a new account. Fill in relevant information according to instructions on the screen step

by step. After confirmation by ZTE, usually two work days, the user is sent an account
and password for logging on to the server.
3. Click Documentation > Product Manuals, select the product category GSM, the
system lists all documents related to GSM radio products and core network products.
Click GSM Wireless Base Station (V3 Series), find the manual to be downloaded and
click Documents Download.
4. Another option is to click Documentation > Product Manuals and input Keyword
to search relevant product manuals. Also, user can click Advanced Search to set
certain query conditions to find needed product manuals.

Requesting for Printed Product Manuals or CDs

Users can contact the local ZTE office to obtain printed product manuals or CDs.

Note:
Before requesting for a product manual, make clear the manual’s version information.

2.2.2 Document Details

The following describes the version information of product manuals, and user can take this
for reference when downloading or requesting manuals.
On the manual's head page, the product name, product version, document Revision No.,
and document Serial No. are given. The manual's revision information is also listed. Table
2-1 explains the product manual's version information.
