II. Project Summary

Electromagnetic induction, or simply induction, is a concept that greatly contributes to
the progressive technological advancements in the modern world. Through induction, the
invention of electric generators, graphics tablet, induction cooking, and wireless charging was
made possible.

2
In this project, the proponents aim to explore deeper into its concept, and its objectives are as
follows:

1) understand what induction is;

2) apply its concept by in wireless power transmission; and,

3) create a prototype that concretely explains how wireless power transmission is applied
through the concept of electromagnetic induction that is cost-effective.

Since the very concept of induction is it is a human-generated electromagnetic force, it is

important to have a power source, such as batteries. Moreover, since wireless power transmission
requires both a transmitter and a receiver of the charge, there has to be two solenoids with the
transmitter having more number of loops than the other. With the amount of materials needed for
this project, a total budget cost of P*** will make the project possible.

This project will be accomplished by students from the 12 – St. Francis of Assisi – Batch
B, and all project implementation will be done on campus. Through this study, the proponents
will be able to create a prototype that shows how wireless power transmission through induction
works. By the end of the semester, or after two weeks of work time, the proponents will be
conducting an exhibit in Pilar College of Zamboanga City.

3
III. Project Background
Wireless transmission is one of the most important breakthroughs made possible by
electromagnetism. Unfortunately, for some students, this branch of Physics can be too
challenging to comprehend with only diagrams and formulas. In line with this, the proponents
aim to help students understand one of its concepts that is induction.

This study aims to make electromagnetic induction comprehensible and properly instill to
the students its efficiency on making life so much easier.

IV. Project Objectives

The objectives during the conduct of the project are as follows:

1. Help students understand the concept of electromagnetic induction

- Induction is a human-generated form of electromagnetic force and can be studied
further using Faraday’s Law of Induction.
2. Apply the concept of induction to wireless power transmission

4
- This aspect will help us understand the importance of induction and
electromagnetism itself in technological advancements.
3. Create a prototype that depicts wireless power transmission through induction
- By creating a device, the proponents will be able to teach concepts the concepts more
concretely and aid the understanding of students with different learning
competencies.

V. Project Methodology
This project has two components, the Final Paper on Physics Investigatory Project and
the Device. By the end of the semester, the proponents shall be able to: 1) follow the project
schedules and 2) present the deliverables. For a better implementation of the project, possible
risks should be identified and managed.

B. Project Deliverables

A. Final Paper on Physics Investigatory Project

5
- In the final paper, all concepts and applications of wireless power transmission and
induction will be indicated. This will help users of the study understand how the
experiment works. This is where the diagrams, formulas, and other needed
information will be found.

B. Wireless Power Transmission Device

- By the end of the conceptualization period, the proponents will be able to create a
prototype showing a wireless power transmission with the use of EMF induction’s
concepts.

C. Project Risk Management

Projects that involve electricity can be very hazardous without careful

demonstration. To minimize the risks posed to the proponents in making the device, the
power source to be used will be low-voltage. This will also help in ensuring that the
project cost will not exceed the proposed budget.

1. Electric Shock

- Students may encounter an electric shock with a project that involves electricity.
However, this is less likely to happen with low-voltage materials such as batteries.

2. Lack of Research

- This risk is very crucial as it will define the outcome of the project. Apart from having a
disastrous output, without proper research, the researchers are prone to wasting their
resources and money on a failed project.

3. Improper Allocation of Budget

6
- This is a project risk as this has the potential to waste the students’ funds. To control its
occurrence, proponents must put into consideration the cost of every material and
equipment.

VI. Project Costs

In this section you will need to estimate the overall cost of the project.
