First revelations, ‫ اْق َرْأ‬, read! >> command
related to knowledge
‫ ;اْق َرْأ ِباْس ِم َرِّبَك اَّلِذي َخَلَق‬learn, know and
understand that no one worthy to
worship than Allah SWT.
Use the right instrument, ‫َع َّلَم ِباْلَق َلِم‬:
[Al-Qalam 68:1]
‫ن ۚ َو اْلَق َلِم َوَم ا َيْس ُط ُروَن‬
Nun. By the pen and what they inscribe.
THE PROPHET SAW SAYS
The first thing Allah created was the
Pen. He commanded it to write.
It said: 'My Lord, what shall I write?'
He SWT said: 'Write down what has
been ordained for all things until the
establishment of the Hour.

IMAM AHMAD’S WISDOM
how beautiful are the effect of people
of the knowledge and knowledge
upon the people of the masses; and
how evil are the effect of the masses
upon the people of knowledge and
knowledge.
indeed, only if the masses don't take
heed and become the obstacle to
knowledge.
KNOWLDGE IS MORE THAN POWER
Islam put knowledge as one of nobility.
The reality of knowledge surpasses the
realm of power.
Instinct & natural disposition (fitrah) is a
state that is connected to guidance,
filled with knowledge.
Knowledge which is pure, received by
pure fitrah can never a contradiction,
stress.
[AS-SHU'ARA 26:88-89]
‫) ِإاَّل َم ْن َأَتى َهَّللا‬88( ‫َيْو َم اَل َينَف ُع َم اٌل َو اَل َبُنوَن‬
)89( ‫ِبَق ْلٍب َس ِليٍم‬
The Day when there will not benefit
[anyone] wealth or children; But only one
who comes to Allah with a sound heart.

VIRTUES OF SEEKING KNOWLEDGE

INHERITANCE FROM THE PROPHETS PATH TO JANNAH

Abu-Darda RA reported,
the Messenger of Allah (‫ )ﷺ‬said, Narrated Abu Hurairah RA, that the
Messenger of Allah (‫ )ﷺ‬said,
‫اْلُع َلَم اُء ُخَلَف اُء اَألْنِب َي اِء ِإَّن اَألْنِب َي اَء َلْم ُيَوِّر ُثوا‬
‫ِد يَن اًر ا َو ال ِد ْر َه ًم ا ِإَّنَم ا َوَّر ُثوا اْلِع ْل َم‬ ‫َم ْن َس َلَك َط ِريًق ا َيْل َت ِم ُس ِفيِه ِع ْل ًم ا َس َّه َل‬
‫ُهَّللا َلُه َط ِريًق ا ِإىَل اْلَجَّن ِة‬
The learned are the heirs of the
Prophets who bequeath neither dinar Whoever takes a path upon which to

‫وإن المالئكة لتضع أجنحتها لطالب العلم‬ ‫وإن العالم ليستغفر له من في السماوات‬

‫وفضل العالم عىل العابد كفضل القمر عىل سائر الكواكب‬

The superiority of the learned man over the devout is like that of the moon, on the
night when it is full, over the rest of the stars.

VIRTUES OF SEEKING KNOWLEDGE

RAISING THE BAR OF WITNESS ALLAH GIVES GOOD

[Ali Imran 3:18]
Narrated Ibn 'Abbas RA, that the
‫اَش ِه َد ُهَّللا َأَّنُه اَل ِإَٰل َه ِإاَّل ُه َو َو اْلَم اَل ِئَكُة َو ُأوُلو‬ Messenger of Allah (‫ )ﷺ‬said,
‫اْلِع ْل ِم َق اِئًم ا ِباْلِق ْس ِط ۚ اَل ِإَٰل َه ِإاَّل ُه َو اْلَع ِزيُز‬
‫اْلَحِكيُم‬ ‫َم ْن ُيِرِد ُهَّللا ِبِه َخْي ًر ا ُيَف ِّق ْه ُه ِفي الِّد يِن‬

Allah witnesses that there is no deity For whomever Allah wants good, He
except Him, and [so do] the angels and gives him understanding in the religion
[At-Tirmidhi]

Messenger of Allah (‫ )ﷺ‬said,
TEACH KNOWLEDGE TO OTHERS
Abu-Darda RA reported, the Messenger of ‫َأْد َناُكْم‬ ‫اْلَع ا ِد َكَف ْض ِلي َع ىَل‬
‫ِب‬
‫َف ْض ُل اْلَع اِلِم َع ىَل‬
Allah (‫ )ﷺ‬said,
The virtue of the scholar over the
‫ِهَّللا َأْنَف ُع ُه ْم ِللَّن اِس‬ ‫ىَل‬
‫ِإ‬ ‫َأَحُّب الَّن اِس‬ worshiper is like my virtue over the least
of you
[At- Tirmidh]
The most beloved people to Allah are
those who are most beneficial to people.

KNOWLEDGE SUPERSEDES WEALTH & HEALTH Anas bin Malik RA

reported, the

‫َص َد َق ٍة َجاِر َيٍة َأْو ِع ْل ٍم ُيْنَت َف ُع ِبِه َأْو َو َلٍد َص اِل َيْدُع و َلُه‬
‫ٍح‬ ‫ُكِّل ُم ْس ِلٍم‬
When a man dies, his acts come to an end, but three,
Seeking knowledge is a
recurring charity, or knowledge (by which people)

ABOUT ADAAB
Knowledge cannot be attained without the right adaab.

IBN QAYYIM'S: PURE HEARTS, PURE SELF

Adaab is manifesting beautiful Narrated Al-Nu’man ibn Bashir RA, that
character through extracting it from the Messenger of Allah (‫ )ﷺ‬said,
your nature the most complete of your
abilities in actions, speeches, attitudes ‫َأاَل َو ِإَّن ِفي اْلَجَس ِد ُم ْض َغ ًة ِإَذ ا َص َلَحْت َص َلَح‬
& demeanor. ‫اْلَجَس ُد ُكُّلُه َو َذ ا َف َس َد ْت َف َس َد اْلَجَس ُد ُكُّلُه َأاَل‬
‫ِإ‬
Knowledge of manners entails the ‫َو ِه َي اْلَق ْل ُب‬
knowledge of correcting the
articulation of the tongue and Verily, in the body is a piece of flesh
protecting it from mistakes and which, if sound, the entire body is sound,
malfunctions. and if corrupt, the entire body is corrupt.
Truly, it is the heart.

PERFECT CHARACTER
Narrated Abu Hurayrah RA, that the KNOWLEDGE & ADAAB
Messenger of Allah (‫ )ﷺ‬said, If knowledge is the vessel holding the laws of
Allah, than adaab is the vessel holding
‫ِإَّنَم ا ُبِع ْث ُت ُأِلَتِّم َم َص اِلَح اَألْخ الِق‬ knowledge.

If this is the reality, than we have to preserve
I was sent to perfect good character. the vessel.
[Al-Albani]
because if the vessel looks filthy, it doesn't
matter how pure the liquid inside... because
AN-NAHL 16:90 the appearance of the vessel.

‫ِإَّن َهَّللا َيْأُم ُر ِباْلَع ْد ِل َو اِإْلْح َس اِن َو ِإيَت اِء ِذ ي‬ He who belittles or devalues manners, will be
‫اْلُق ْر َبٰى َو َيْن َه ٰى َع ِن اْلَف ْح َش اِء َو اْلُم نَكِر‬
punished by Allah SWT by being uninspired
‫َو اْلَب ْغ ۚ َيِع ُظ ُكْم َلَع َّلُكْم َتَذ َّكُر وَن‬ towards the Sunnah.
‫ِي‬ and he who being prevented from practicing
the Sunnah, he will be punished by not
